2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

The main surprise will be that there will be no surprises and russians will utterly dominate this JGP with quads, triple axels and wonderful programs

Am I right with the assumtion that there will be JGPs in Bratislava, Linz AND Salzburg? I guess I'm lucky :D Will anyone need an amateur livestream or are there real ones planned?

usually, there is an official livestream from ISU available on youtube, so you can just enjoy the competition :)

I mean, the Russian juniors have no opponents anyway... so yeah, not surprising.
Ready to see Russia go 1-2-3-4-5-6 at the JGPF

I‘m not trying to bash anyone by asking this just being curious but: can anybody even beat the Russians this season? As far as I know most of the Japanese and Korean threats have moved senior, so who is left?

Tarusina wouldn't really be such a surprise and I don't see her potential being so high, even though I enjoy her skating. She just doesn't have it with her PCS categories and her jumps are tiny. They likely are tiny partially because of what happened to her knee in that accident but yeah... Still, I would love to see her have some success in the JGP.

You Young and some lower end Japanese juniors.

Young can if she has 3A and is consistent otherwise, otherwise the GPF will be a Moscow local. But this time, without the Panova overscoring!

The only two I see for now are Yelim Kim and Young You, but Japan can certainly surprise us.

:laugh2: and without Konstantinova i guess

God, I‘m so glad Konstantinova is finally moving up. It‘s not that I don‘t like her, I just don‘t like her in juniors. It‘ll be interesting to see how she fares off in seniors. She does have potential if she doesn‘t bomb like she did at Worlds...

Hm. I watched Yelim Kim’s programs and honestly, I don‘t feel she‘s a threat to the Russians. At least certainly not to Trusova, Kostornaya and Sherbakova. If Tarakanova performs like last season, not to her either. I‘m sorry but I guess I just fail to see her potential. To my eyes there‘s nothing spectacular about her but I might be wrong on that of course!

Young You... I actually hope she lands that 3A because we need more 3A in ladies skating.

I like her grace on the ice. She's very fluent, cat-like and easy in her movement. Not strong mentally though, that's why the outcomes are not impressive so far.

Well it doesn’t really matter how naturally talented you are if you aren’t mentally strong ... and I don’t think that Yelim or Young will be threats because of that.

What? I hope Sinitsyna, Kanisheva and Kostyuk will all compete in JGP this season. I think Ksenia and Anastasia can get good scores outside Russia too (not as high obviously)

Nana Araki, Riko Takino, You Young, some new japanese skater, but gold medals might be again for russians only like last season.

At this point it's more a competition in Russia.

Sambo70 vs Panova vs CSKA vs someone from SPB (Gulyakova? Nugumanova?)

It also depends, what kind of "threat" you mean. For instance, what will be more difficult next year in juniors: to get into JGPF or to get onto JWs podium?

April 19th 2018 "Хрустальный" - https://vk.com/eteritutberidze?z=album-97272391_253592208 - no hint of Tsurskaya leaving, individual works with her on new programs, 3A Kostornaya and Maximilian Yermolin technique, Maya Khromyh, Kamilla Valieva, Erohov and Moris, Serj Rozanov, Daniil Mefistofeles, Sergey Dudakov, Tutberidze herself. It will be interesting whether there will be something left in the programs from Buyanova.

Sinitsyna and Kanysheva will probably get spots. I wish Kostyuk could too 😢 but at the JGPF there will be no internal politicking and overscoring of Panova’s skaters

Kostyuk might get one. Unlike Sinitsyna and Kanysheva she will be senior eligible next season so they will want her to have a chance at getting a good international score. If they do send her then I think Sinitsyna will miss out unfortunately.
