I attended the
Ice Dreams show last evening in Elmsford, NY where Karen, Mirai, Starr and Alysa performed. Both Starr and Alysa did their short programs and looked great. Starr is skating to "Summertime" and Alysa to "Lo Siento/Spanish Flame." Alysa landed a two footed under-rotated 3A, from my perspective but did a clean 3-3 in the second half.
Karen skated to her SOI program
"Never Enough" and popped a lutz but landed everything else. Mirai did her SOI program to "
No Good Deed" and also landed all of her jumps. She looked better here than when I saw her on SOI. I hope Mirai keeps competing, but if not, she should do more shows b/c her personality comes out more when she's not concentrating on landing combos.
From my perspective, I think Starr is looking very strong and more mature and I think she has a shot at the Sr. Nationals podium. Alysa will likely repeat as Jr. Champion, unless she is allowed to skate as a senior at Nationals?
As for Karen, other than the popped lutz, she looked great, but she is more of a question mark for me.
