Alina Zagitova

Does anybody here know if the rumor that Daria Panekova is leaving Eteri is true?

I am asking here because of those cute videos that she and Alina were together in.

We know as much as you do. The only thing I can say is that there were rumors about her alreasy, sometimes on the end of the season. That time she posted something that some people interpreted as her leaving or even ending with figure skating. she denied that. Now, who knows, I can't find any logic in such move (unlike in Anastasia's move) unless something serious happened.

It's the last day of the training camp in Novogorsk.
Alina looks healthy and in good shape.

Alina updated again her insta story...you can tell that the training camp is (almost) over..

Is there anyone who can translate what her post says?

Edited to add: I just observed that Aljona Savchenko has posted the same thing..

The police are looking for a witness of a crime to identify criminals

I have looked over some pictures with Alina and Daniil.. and I have to say that they have so much chemistry that they could sell anything, even ice to the Eskimos \
Edit This doesn't mean anything in practical terms (in order to avoid any interpretation), just two people who express something in a picture

I hope this leads to an amazing muse/choreographer creation that is the best version of POTO ever seen and a Carmen free skate for the ages! Make it happen, Daniil!

i also hope so.... i am more nervous about Carmen than about POTO, I don't know why....

Light irony and sarcasm are our national way of making fun, it's in our nature (therefore one of our national heroes is "The Good Soldier Švejk" :) ).

I think that‘s pretty cool, actually! Having a national hero of sarcasm, very unique indeed. :) The problem is just when you’re a sarcastic person and can‘t restrain yourself from using it even in the worst possible situations. Does your national hero have this problem, too?

same for me! I have appreciated a few poto programs but i'm just the biggest Carmen hater out there honestly so i'm pretty worried. Also we probably have to wait until september to see her Carmen program since she's said to only reveal the SP at The Ice

Carmen needs to be good otherwise the haters will say that she can only do Spanish and even then not well or some crap like that

Haters can suck it honestly lol they've been dragging her to hell and back calling her robotova, saying she has no emotions and artistry blabla. I want her to win the heart of people who doubted her but haters will always find a reason to hate honestly.

Briefly, this novel takes place shortly before and during World War I. The main character Josef Švejk is a man of doubtful reputation, who was once sacked from the austrian-hungarian army due to stupidity. Now, when war is closing, he meets all the absurdity of the regime and the war later, while he survives everything just through his rampant enthusiasm, no one can decide whether he is merely an imbecile or is in fact smart and all that is intentional sarcam which helps him to win over the situation always. Throughout the book he is - arrested for dehonesting his majesty the emperor, sent to lunatic asylum, cured for alleged pretending illness to avoid military service, becomes minion of military chaplain and then this chaplain stakes him in game of cards and looses him to 1st lieutenant Lukáš (the most normal character in the book) and Švejk becomes his ordonnace. Then they both go to war and Švejk is again - suspected of being a russian spy, then released, nearly hanged etc. But as I've said, he always wins the situation, when through his alleged stupidity is pointed how all the situation, most notably war itself, is stupid.

Just the beginning, Švejk is at home, than his charwoman enters and tells him "They assasinated Ferdinand" (meaning Franz Ferdinand of Austria). And Švejk replies: "Which one? I know two of them" (then he starts describing some two local men of that name, while the woman tries to explain she meant heir of the austro-hungarian throne). The author wrote this book from his own experience with the serving in austro-hungarian army during WWI.

To be honest, the humour in this book is very specific, czech-like (with many jokes related to our mentality, history etc.), so I sometimes wonder why exacly this book is probably the most famous czech novel abroad (e. g. Joseph Heller said he wrote his Catch-22 under the strong influence of The Good Soldier Švejk).

So, to reply your question, it can be answered "yes, even in such situations" (like staying before court-martial etc.) :)

exactly my thoughts :agree:

Thank you, thank you :thank: At last a new photo posted by Alinka, I am happy to see that she chooses to keep this pink ball tradition :luv17:

And now I really miss seeing her skating...I wonder if we will be able to find videos after her next Ice show :scratch2:

Oh yeah, we will for sure get one TV showing of "The Ice", it will air on Sept 1st (yeah long time away, I know...) at Nittele TV (Aichi) in Japan. Maybe more showings / tappings / clips will surface.

We might get interviews and her participation in other Japanese TV shows, we had them the other times around so...hope is up.

A lot of tapes on the legs.. new skates :(

I was just watching this very informative video on the physics of figure skating jumps, it actually talks about quads but it teaches some very cool stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7AjF4of300

And they mention in the video (at around 5:34) that skaters land their jumps with between 5 and 8 times their body weight. That means major wear and tear as you practice. Thank god Alina is not really big and is very lean, I like that she actually uses taping it can work to either help prevent a major injury or treat a minor one. Either way she tapes like a pro.

Edit to: Add a link to a full video on just the study done on figure skating jumps (landing impact), I found it quite informative

Again... newton isn't a unit for "body weight" and they're not comparable like that. You land with 1 times your body weight and that's all. If you punch your table hard, your fist isn't landing on the table "with your full body weight" even though the impact might be such in newtons. They're not the same unit.

Ugh. It's akin to saying that if you're running, you are constantly landing with a 100kg backpack. That is, it makes no sense.

You are mixing up weight and mass. Your mass (kilograms) is more or less constant, while your weight (the force with which you press on the surface) depends on your mass, the gravity and your acceleration.
