That I'm actually pretty happy about, prefer him quite significantly to Buianova.

I would much prefer that to Buyanova. Davydov seems to be doing well with Tarusina, Samodelkina, Istomina, and Berestovskaya and is certainly not stagnating like Buyanova.

Davydov would be a good choice if she decided she had to leave. She'd likely get more attention than with Buianova who has several senior ladies already.

Just saw in the korean JGP qualifier thread that the assignments for korean girls are out. How long before we get the russian girls assignments?

Russia doesn’t publish the list of assignments and we only get who performs when ISU publishes the list of participants of specific JGP. Also RusFed tends to change assignments after performance of specific skater. For example last year in Gdańsk they changed Trusova to Kostornaia like week before the competition

But tomorrow or Tuesday, the ISU should release the initial list for Bratislava (which means nothing because all the subs can sub in)

Well Bratislava and Vancouver now have Young You who supposedly has 3A (but fell on it at the Korea qualifiers for JGPs) so I would put Trusova or Kostornaya at each of them, possibly both of them. (One will get silver, yes, but two bronzes effectively shuts out You's chances for the final over Kostornaya with two silvers, or Trusova with one/two silver depending on quads)

Intentionally putting both sasha & alena (their best juniors) at the same assignments before the final doesn't make sense imo, it's not even smart. Also why would the Rusfed even care about wanting to shut You Young out of the final?

yep i mean, the best way to shut someone out of the final is to spread the top girls, they will do the job.

both is pointless. When separate, those girls can easily win a gold. When put together, one will have a silver.
Also, so far, i highly doubt that Young You will win 2 silvers that easily. I mean, thats the same lady who came 4th and 5th last year.

Sherbakova jumps 4Lz. Trusova with whatever she comes up this season, if everything‘s the same from last: 4S and 4S. Kostornaya presumably 3A. They will only fight against themselves to stay consistent and each other. If they pull of clean and even cleanish skates, they will sweep the podium. No shaky, inconsistent, underrotated 3A by either Korean or Japanese ladies will change that. Just like it didn‘t last season.
