Apparently Angelique is in Russia now without Shchepetov and some people are saying that she would want to team up with Pavel Drozd. But this is just a rumor though.

They are no longer on the substitute list. This does give more credibility to the rumors about her splitting up with Shchepetov and trying out with Drozd.

I love the way Angelique Abachkina skates ... and I think Louis THAURON was a good partner to her .... she and pavel will be a cute ice dance pair but some reason I think she deserves a better partner ...

I thought he was one of the greatest on the men's junior field, but overshadowed by his previous partner. I think they'll gonna be lit... if they are still together.

Mdk0144 - Do you mean Drozd or Thauron? Thauron was probably overshadowed by Abachkina performance wise, but in no way was Drozd overshadowed by Alla Loboda (in my opinion, at least).

I agree, i always though Drozd was one of the very best men junior dancer when they were competing. His partnering with Abachkina would be interesting but i have to say my dream pairing would be her with Yakushev. They would kill it! But anyways, with whoever, i hope she comes back soon because i want to watch her skate again!
I also quite like the partnering of Thauron with Adelina Galayavieva, i'm curious to see what they can do at GP.

It is sad news but I wonder why she made her decision so soon? I mean Tiffany waited years for her release but a few months were enough for Angelique. Or was she told by the French Fed that they were never going to release her?

It seems BOTH federations were unwilling to give an inch . It is quite nonsensical.
It's a terrible waste of talent but it might be the right decision for her psychologically: taking back control of her life.
