[emoji4] Exactly! Haha same here! I’ve never even heard of that song until recently but I’ve listened to both Cole versions and can’t decide which one I like more, so whichever one it is I’ll be happy! [emoji106]

Same. When I heard the song for the first time and that ”wham bam alakazam!“ came up it actually made me wince because I did not expect that at all. Pretty unexpected😂 But I like both versions as well and it will be interesting to see which one Zhenya chooses😊

Too right! I made the mistake of listening to the Nat King Cole version first with headphones on. It started off quietly so I turn the volume up and then WHAM BAM ALAKAZAM! [emoji28] I agree, I wonder if they’ll edit the song at all? The original track length seems about right for a sp.
 
Guys! Not much longer now until our Khaleesi regains the Grand Prix throne. Tsarina in exile no more. New programs! It’s going to rock! Get Team Yolo and Team Yata ready! :)

I had headphones on, too. Quite a shocker. But it will be great. I imagine her with a cheeky smile on her face as she lands her jump combo right on the beat. I don‘t like her 2A-2T-2T combo but her it could be used to great effect:

WHAM 2A - BAM 2T - ALAKAZAM 2T!

Oh. Just realised it‘s the SP so no combo like this. :( Well, anyway, I‘m excited.

I have no idea about music cuts, though, I‘m terrible at this. But the length seems right for a SP so maybe they‘ll really leave it as it is? :think:

Haha. It’s okay. It’s a quote from a song from the movie Anastasia about the missing romanov Princess Anastasia still being alive. I meant it in reference that the missing Tsarina will return and reclaim her throne. [emoji4]

And Team Yolo and Team Yata were the two Evgenia “teams” debating stuff during the Olympics. Yolo and Yata are my nicknames for the user names of the biggest posters who headed up the two sides. It was a fun discussion time.

It is a very good point, and I was just wondering too while listening to Natalie Cole version. I think they should take the version with voice, I prefer the female cover by Natalie Cole for Zhenya, but if they decide to take instrumental cover I think it might be a bit dull.... Also I find it hard to imagine with what music they can mix it up...

I'm new to the forum. The first time I saw Evgenia skate was the sp at Skate America and I thought she is going to be a star.
I cannot wait to see her new programs this season. I love Experience

hahaha yes, I remember that comment too , Paloma and Susana are alway very honest , the Spanish community has learned a lot about skating (and gymnastics ) thanks to them.
The FS 2016 is also my favorite of Evgenia, it was so different from everything I've seen, and she looked so light.

Almost everyone has announced both programs. And I still intrigued with zhenya, much is speculated, little is known. A signal!!!!:drama:

She can actually do a combo but it‘s most likely not going to be one with an axel. The double axel is (aside from the lutz) her weakest jump and usually I don‘t like her combos with it. But to this music I could imagine it. For the short program she‘s always used the 3F-3T combo as she‘s most comfortable with it and it earns her the most points from all the combos she can comfortably do. Maybe she’ll have a change next season and she might add a loop combo, something like 3F-3Lo but we‘ll see. Loop combos generally are more difficult but they earn more points (her lutz-loop combo + backloading was why Alina won over Evgenia at the OG) Sorry if I‘m explaining something you already know here, though. Oops😅

Agree😅 It will explode. Go, Zhenya, let‘s make goldenskate go crazy!! She‘s doing a pretty good job for now😂😂

'Tsarina in exile'. It reminds me of in Japanese documentaries from about 2016-17, the commentators always call her 'sekai no jou-ou' -- 'queen of the [figure skating] world'.

Mmmm it's not even August yet but I'm so ready... I just want to see Zhenya skating. I want Zhenya to win and be happy. It's all I ask. I'll be so happy when the Grand Prix gets going, it'll be my excuse to forget to study for finals.
