Alina Zagitova

so much new content! thanks guys for sharing. that hairstyle she had at the ice made her look so much older. She seems so much taller too, i hope the growth spurts aren't going to mess with her jumps. I want to see her perform well consistently and growing comfortable with the new style of programs she's going to have this season.

lol, it's opposite for me :scratch2:
I really like the second part of the program including stsq.
The first part still quite raw.
but i think this program has potential.

There are things i like and others i wish they'll improve. I really like the stsq but i'm a bit sad they did not seem to have addressed the issue of rushed movements. She has very beautiful lines, if they could make her hold her positions a bit longer, it'd make her skating look more graceful in my opinion. That 2A entry is wonderful omg i hope she keeps it all season. I think it looks like the program is not finalized yet? am i the only one who has that impression? so far it looks promising, not perfect yet but there are beautiful things there.

I was worried because I'm not a fan of that music but it turned out to be a pretty good program. Love the step sequences, musicality, and spins. Her arms are so elegant this year. It looks like she plans to open with the combo. That's somewhat of a surprise. The only thing I wish she would work on is those broken lines. It's a little distracting. Overall though it's probably the best POTO program I've ever seen. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Thank you, friends, for vids.
Personally, I like new SP very much. But I'm worried about her lz.

Thank you so much guys for sharing the videos...we waited so much for them and at last they are out :hpull:

First of all I am so glad to see a new program from Alinka...just seeing her skating gave me goosebumps :luv17:
My overall impression is based on the fact that the program is not polished yet, I am sure other improvements will be made until the beginning of the season and that capacity of "feeling the program" will be developed during the season, after multiple performances, and probably it will reach a peak when it will matter the most, at RusNats, Europeans and afterwards, Worlds.

Alinka's interpretation skills and posture really improved a lot, you can tell that her team was working a lot in this direction, she managed gracefully to convey many feelings by her movements and expressions. Even her speed on the ice mirrors the music changes, slower on the lyrical parts, accelerated on the fast parts. The music arrangement was made so she'll be able to tell a complete story, which is really hard in a SP, and I think it's a matter of taste, I personally don't mind it because Alinka's skating changes with every different music fragment, and that is really hard to achieve. For me it would have been a problem if her skating remained the same, which is not the case.

Her pirouettes are gorgeous as usual (that last pirouette...wow great flexibility:jaw:), I am sure she'll work more to achieve consistency on her signature combination 3Lz+3Lo, and the entry in her 2A is so beautiful and difficult (I just hope she will be rewarded as she deserves, if she'll keep it). I like her SS, she has great skating skills and it just seems efortless...

Overall I like the program just because Alinka really managed to channel the emotions she was expressing, I really felt that mixture of love and fear. She looks so mature, it's even hard to talk about it because she's growing so fast that I'm becoming nostalgic, but what's more important, I think her skating is more mature, too. She's continuously developing, improving, and this program really shows it. I am waiting now for the new season, and see how the program itself will develop, I think we will be surprised even more. :luv17:

Edited to add: Oh my good I wrote so much..I am really sorry for my long post  I am just excited for seeing a new program from Alinka as I know you are

The perfect Saturday - Getting up, having pancakes for breakfast and opening GS and Instagram to see tons of new Alina content <3

The SP is good! The only problem is that it's... the short program, and I have the feeling their idea of having so many parts would be more suitable for a long program, because the switching here is very fast and everytime I am a bit confused what is happening now. All this makes me think that Carmen will be even more complex.

I wish she held her Ina Bauer for 2 more seconds, just like in DQ - it would be soo spectacular.
The third part with the 3F is my favourite, her programs always have the finale grande. I even was thinking that if it wasn't for the POTO music, if the audio is muted, she reminds me of Cinderella, especially with this blue dress.

Btw, did you notice the Shiseido ad just behind Alina when she was doing the doughnut spin? I bet they asked her where is she spinning to place the ad exactly there.

Exactly my problem as well. I must confess, all those sudden and not really logical music changes left me anxious at the end.... But as far as Alina is concerned, she did well. There's definitely a positive improvement on her arm positions and overall artistry. :)

In my opinion, she looked as if she was trying too hard to be slow and paying attention to the moves, because they gave her that lyrical melody which requires slow movements. But Alina's strength are the various, fast executed transitions during the step sequence, and I personally find it even more intriguing and interesting when she does them at her normal speed. How many ladies are able to do that? - Not so many.. most of them compensate for that with just skating graciously from side to side and I don't think this is Alina's level.... That's why I was concerned earlier about her music choices. I know they want to experiment and I am excited to see how this will work out, but at the same time her team shouldn't hide her strong features and exposure her weakness.

PS Sorry for the double post

So thrilled to see Alina's new SP! I don't think it is as bad as some of you are saying. There are lots of music cuts, but I think that is how her team rolls. There were lots of music cuts in Black Swan too, but they were probably done a bit better as they didn't seem to bother as many people. I would love to see her hold some movements longer, like the Ina Bauer at the end but I know that's not going to happen with her team's choreo. I was concerned for her lutz loop too, but my understanding is she landed it in the other shows. Overall, I think the program has a lot of promise and there are many beautiful things about it. Also, Alina looks gorgeous and all grown up.

ETA in the future, I would love to see her skate to something eastern themed, similar to Samson and Delilah from her 2015-16 season. I think that type of music suits her best, and based on interviews, she seems to think so too.

I am telling you - next season's top news - Alina skating to Memoirs of a Geisha and opening a Sushi restaurant in Moscow

She is so cute! I just love her reactions, her concentration during the fan game and when she was making the sushi! And I love the Japanese for their patience and how they really helped her get closer to the Japanese culture, her kimonos are so beautiful and really emphasize on her natural beauty! I am starting to really like Japan, couldn't imagine Alina's feelings toward this country, she surely feels loved and safe there. That's why I am glad that the next World Championships will be held in Saitama, Japan.

I have the same feeling. But even in this season may be the EX program will have an oriental theme? I wouldn't mind it.

When was the last time a 16 yr old ladies single won the Worlds?

This time the white dress is shorter and her hair - loose. Mesmerizing look!

According to Shoma's FF, it will be Alina vs. Shoma at the jumping competition tomorrow! :eeking:

if you're right and the fast-paced transition is more her style then her choreographer really needs to find what works for her! Black Swan was a program that fit her like a glove in my opinion and as you said if really slow programs aren't her things then i suggest something more dramatic than this POTO. I remember thinking last year after she revealed her short program that she'd pull off something like Yuna Kim's Danse Macabre so damn well. What do you guys think?

I'd like to hear from Alina herself what kind of programs she wants to try. I know that she probably wasn't asked for her opinion for her music this season since at Worlds conference when Eteri revealed she had already chosen her next musics, Alina was like :eeking::o: she didn't even know that  but i'm just curious to know if there's something specific she'd like to try.

I'm so happy they used the Phantasia Suite for the whole program. I got goosebumps on the triple flip, it was perfectly placed with the music.

I felt it went much faster than when all the jumps were in the back, I think this layout fits her much more.
