Alena Kanysheva’s free—these test skates are the worst kept secret I have ever seen. Is this the first year there have been so many leaks.

After the juniors stellar performances and results last year, i bet so many people were too excited

I can't believe Sasha's doing a quad in combo :reye: I love her so much! Her tech score alone could beat other girls!

A couple other observations of mine...
I enjoyed Anna's long, despite the mistakes, so much more than in Japan, seems like she is fitting the character more already. Her quad lutz was scary though, maybe she was nervous, but when I watched her after Sasha the lutz didn't even compare. I predict Sasha to land it in competition first. I didn't mind Alena's program, her jumps are beautiful and the music didn't bother me at all, I liked it better than her programs last season. I can already picture her in her dress, such a pretty Juliet! But why doesn’t she do 2 lutzes instead of 2 axels? Even if she puts the 3a in. I also really enjoyed watching Kanysheva's long. She is very elegant and has strong jumps, I truly think she earned her JGP spot... although the spins were a little rough. And Tarakanova's short was very entertaining to me, the jumps were stunning, so much better than I was expecting due to everything going on with her!

considering i'm trash for Alena, if i were being biased i'd say https://media.giphy.com/media/l0HUguHIEhuEo37ag/giphy.gif 10seconds into watching her program  she's my favorite junior (with gubanova) and i really do not like the music cuts and the voiceovers.

Feel free to have your day ruined by this, but, I'm sorry to say it, I really consider it stupid being so angry because of a small fraction of the whole program, even when "this is not what i wanted for her". Not your toy, sorry again, but most complaints I've read for the last days since Alina's SP videos were uploaded really looks that way, child who did not found desired toy under the tree, "I wanted something different and I won't stop crying till I get it".

It matters to others too, please, try for some moment not to think about favorite skaters as something you have copyright to. They are independent persons with their styles, demands, development and of course abilities and it is only their team responsibility to try to lead it right way, no matter what you think from some videos, that are only tiny fraction of their lives. From it it can appear that something is or isn't good for them, but you don't see rhe rest, which is much bigger. Have always this in mind before you make a decision what you want for somebody.

I guess I'm in the minority here in thinking that Alena's music cuts were smooth; I really had no problem with them. The music itself, however, was quite boring until "A Time for Us," and for the most part, so was the routine, because it was hamstrung by the slow, swelling music. When people complained about the cuts, I expected something like the Frankenstein they saddled Alina with, but this wasn't bad at all. If the music was more engaging, they wouldn't need to add voice-overs at the beginning to grab your interest. She would have been better off skating only to "A Time for Us," as at least it has a pulse, and she skated her most artistically (IMO) to that last section. Her landings looked a little wobbly, but that was a beautiful combination spin. I think the program will be alright as she polishes it, especially if she gets the 3A back.

Sasha is a beast. I prefer artists to jumpers, but I don't mind watching her jump. She's the only one who can basically do a jumping exercise and hold my interest the whole way through. I also like her cantilever. She's a fierce little lion that's fun to watch, but I don't think she is the greatest female skater in history in-the-making, as another poster said, because figure skating is more than just jumping, but I would not argue that we are watching the development of the greatest female jumper in history. She has a lot of artistry to develop before she can challenge a Katarina Witt or a Yuna Kim, though.

Thanks to those who found and shared the videos!

And I don't like the vibes from Alena's interview. They are completely different from what I feel while watching the interviews with Sasha and Anna. Seems like it's not easy time for her.

I had little time to learn about the news , because I have a lot of work, but I could not miss Junior's tests!

I have fallen in love with Sasha's SP, Sasha + Diva's song is glorious. The choreography is also very contemporary (I love that), she look so strong. I also liked the performance of Tarakanova, I know that this is superficial, but I love her figure and the extension of her legs, she has a very beautiful body and she looks very beautiful when she skates, like Eunsoo Lim's. I must admit that I look forward to "Believer".
Alena, soft, her good flow and skating skills look great, even so I hope she will connect more with the music. I really like the distance she get in the jumps and her flexibility.
Anna, I don't know what to think, seemed tired, and her jumps looked very tiny, I hope she is not scared because of her past accident, she seemed afraid to make her jumps.I like her final pose , is very dramatic .

My favorite performances: Sasha + Nastya:luv17:

I agree! I loved that moment. I‘m already in love with the whole program. It‘s kind of like with Alena‘s Stella‘s Theme and Anna‘s Dreamcatcher or Zhenya‘s River Flows in You. The kind of program I only needed to watch once to fall in love with. :luv17: Her FS is good, too, but it‘ll take me some time to be completely sold on it, unlike the SP.
I've watched this program probably around 20 times by now and every time I'm watching it I get shocked when the step sequence begins. "What, already??" because it feels like the program just started.

More effort put into expressions, an audience, better camera angles and quality... The next 2 weeks will be the longest of the summer. I wonder what kind of a dress she'll have with this..?

Daniil's been weird... some programs have been hideous, others have been masterpieces already... is it normal for a choreographer to be this hot and cold?

Absolutely. Any choreographer can produce a teainwreck and a masterpiece during the same season lol.

I'm very happy about Sasha's programs. Sure, they are quite empty, but I see lots of room to grow in both.
Tarakanova's tango suits her. I think it is very difficult to judge a program without proper lights and costuming, so it seems she wasn't that into the performance like she was last season, yet the tango will go along smoothly once she sells that program.
I was quite bored with Alyona's program, but I felt the same the first time I watched last season's programs for the first time. By the end of the season I was hooked.

In general, I very much hope to see these programs in competition!

I already like all the programs I saw.
I think all of them really good. All of them very different. some classical and elegant others powerful and unique.
All of them could/should still be polished. and become even better. And we didn't even saw dresses and better camera angles and quality.
 great work.

I can't even say which one I love the most.

I got such a feeling as well. Alena's interview was significantly more negative and less confident. As if she's not quite sure about herself and what she's doing and what she wants to be doing. Anna's and Sasha's were very confident.

Actually, Anna's the best speaker of the three by far, it's very apparent. She barely stutters at all and expresses her feelings in an interesting manner. She'll make a great interviewee.

Alena KANYSHEVA and Alexandra TRUSOVA for the third JGP

oh no...Kanysheva have to skate clean on this one, there is Nana Araki, arguably #1 japan junior this season. She's not having 190s score last season but if she skate clean and well (she had big jumps and is at advantage in GOE than Kanysheva) might snatch silver behind Kostornaya and thus leaving Kanysheva with bronze.
