Another clip. The range is not as good as the one above, but this one seems to capture the colors at night better. Really like the change of tempo, color and style at :20.

https://twitter.com/RED_far/status/1027826369223434241 Throwback Yuzu for today. I'd never seen this little clip of Yuzu struggling with a mike while he was a junior before.

A few clips shared on twitter from the NBC broadcast of the olympics, I hadn't heard this part of the commentary before. Clips of Yuzu in the green room as the final results are being announced. https://twitter.com/icegreen03/status/1028106156546220033

The funny thing is that if you listen closely, Yuzu said to boyang:" you have wechat? I don't have wechat." Wechat is a very popular app in China, similar as line in Japan. Not sure how Yuzu got to know about wechat. Maybe boyang wanted to add yuzu as friend on wechat?

Peyton’s interview with WELT

What makes a person interesting for you to paint them?

I’m not a scientist and I’m not searching the universe for these people that might be suitable. It’s more subjective. The closer I feel to my own feelings the more I hope to connect with a greater feeling surrounding me. When I start being fascinated by a person and with what they do I’m getting inspired and I want to learn more about them. I spend a lot of time with this person by listening to their music or watching their art - whatever helps me. […]

How does your new approach [her use of density and colours] fit the theme of this exhibtion?

Beforehand I never know who will be at my exhibtion. But I knew that this time around the Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu will be the starting point/ basis [of this exhibition]. His movements have someting deeply mesmerizing - it’s a way to let “others” inside. I think in art and sports it’s a necessary element. It has something to do with talent but also the knowledge on how to relax a part of oneself: One has to be very conscious to experience moments of the subconscious.

I went to Yomiuri exhibition of Yuzuru at Yokohama Takashimaya yesterday. It was reported that 1300 people lined up in the morning on the first day, but we could enjoy buying the merchandise and going through the exhibition very easily without waiting at all

I and my friends met up at Yokohama station around 12:30 and went for checking how the line was for the merchandise, and it was not crowded so we decided to look around there at first. All goods were SO COOL and I didn't know what to do, but I couldn't resist the photobook by Ice Jewels and got three key chains (after showing them to my mother, she was like "awww I also want it" so I gave PW one to her ). Honestly, I also wanted to buy clear files and fridge magnets but I couldn't afford them :drama: It is really nice some part of the sales are donated to Tohoku areas. In fact, because of being a Yuzuru's fan, I had been able to cooperate in donation so far in kind of win-win situation, which I think is great.

After that, we had lunch at one of the restaurants in Takashimaya, I had lunch set of Tendon and Soba and it was very good. Finishing the meal, we finally went toward the exhibition around 14:00 and saw no line (yay!). Inside, great stuff were displayed in chronological order, but the highlight for me were the costumes. We could see Toy story's (it was small and so so cute :luv17:), White Legend, PW (blue one), SEIMEI (of 2015 I believe), and H&L. The most outstanding for me was H&L, it was so vivid even when I looked at it from far and I liked it so much better in person. And SEIMEI, wow, I couldn't imagine how long it took to be made. There were many circular spangles on it, but surprisingly there were also leaf shaped and butterfly shaped (sorry if I am wrong but that was what I sensed lol), I don't pay attention to the details on the costumes very often so that was news to me. Looking at all the costumes, we all agreed that his waist was very narrow and his hip was so....small :reye: Yes, I've read Mr. Goto's article saying his buttocks got bigger, but it was still small (speaking of being small, I thought his hands must be also small for a man after seeing his gloves).

Other than the costumes, 4 GPF gold medals were displayed and we checked firmly the one in France. It was plastic for sure but not like a paper, it looked like 1cm thick to my eyes. But the part of the strap looked very cheap and I thought we could buy the same kind at the public stores in Japan. A pair of his skating boots was also there, the right shoe was apparently more damaged than the left, especially around the toe. We could also see some Olympic related stuff, there was the grey suit he wore in Sochi Olympics. The logo of the Olympics was removed from the chest pocket, but it was on the buttons and I was amazed.

Overall it was awesome exhibition and we were able to take time like 45 minutes to see it. After enjoying the exhibition, we had a long chat for about 2 hours having coffee, full of speculations and expectations about Yuzuru and figure skating in this season :laugh2: It was a very fun Saturday :hap10:

That is so beautiful.... I just adore fireworks, and can't help marvelling at the level of coolness you must have to have them designed in your honour...

Thank you for the report! I am jealous, it sounded wonderful!

Thanks for the report! You're so lucky to be able see his costumes up close:love:

I hope "Yuzuru Hanyu museum" will be established in Sendai someday, then people from all over the world can come and see :) Hideki Matsui, a former baseball player who received People's honor award, has it in his hometown.
