Very interesting... Evgeny Plushenko and Johnny Weir were my favorite male skaters before Yuzu. There's just something about both of them that stands out to me. I guess part of why Yuzu's skating strikes me as so heavenly is because of their influence in addition to how wonderful he is on his own. :biggrin:

Plushy was my Yuzu at the time and I liked Johnny too so I'm very familiar with these choices and I'm very pleased. :biggrin: Already dreaming about the footwork. I'm sure it's gonna rock!
 
I really hate to say it but... You know what... As soon as he masters 4A and lands it in competition he might retire. Go and see him now.

I think 4T 3T? Except with the possible addition of the 4A, it's basically like his 2016-2017 season layouts in terms of the kind of jumps used. Admitting a sense of relief at not seeing Madame Lutz in his layouts, but he may add that jump later on, Yuzuru being Yuzuru.

Actually I am trembling with excitement to see how Yuzuru will interpret music his skating idols had magnificently skated to. I am sure he has watched their programs again and again. I remember him saying that in Johnny's "Otonal," it appears that the music was coming out from Johnny's body. In "Nijinsky, " Evgeni Plushenko has achieved perfect scores (a string of 6.0s then) in presentation IIRC.

So it's another challenge that Yuzuru has taken on: to make his programs, while recalling that of his idols, also imbued with his unique, inimitable qualities. I am confident he will be up to the task.

Thank you. :) It will be wonderful to see Yuzuru achieve +5 GOEs and 100 in presentation with this program (with allusions to the Italian Esp commentators and the quote as to how far Yuzuru can make us dream :luv17:).

Levity aside, praying that God bless him with good health this season-long. There is no (s)topping a healthy, well-trained Yuzuru Hanyu. Go Yuzu!

4A :scratch2: I can't say I didn't see this coming, just because I don't think he would announce 4A as goal if he wasn't planning on an attempt soon. Since his injuries are healed, and he's better than ever, I would just say go for it!

Uhm, I will not be surprised.

Johnny's "Otonal" costume reminds me of Sota's FS Junior Worlds costume when Sota won bronze, the one that elicited Kurt's comment that Sota has raided Yuzuru's closet and stole one of the latter's costumes. 😁
