Tango doesn't involve leaning away from your hip like Guillaume did there. Unless it's Tango with a twist. But I don't think it's encouraged in the RD?

You may be fully right, and I will admit to ignorance always.
The only thing is: it's clearly a starting position. In the past years, they did not start a free dance in such a dancy posture, but always a more theatrical, neutral attitude that focuses on the physical position and not on any mood (it's an indrawn focus, a being together in concentration). This looks too much of a "dance attitude" for a FD to me, even if it doesn't come close to any classic tango hold.
If it's not the FD, then it surely must be the RD? Why else would we get a bone thrown like this? Would it be just something whatever? Doesn't make sense.
I don't expect at all that they will do a classic tango. I may be very, very wrong. And you may well win the bet.

Is anyone gonna attend the French Masters ? I'm pretty sure they won't allow filming again unless the French Fed finally decide to invest in a decent camera and pay a professional cameraman for once. But Torvill and Dean making a come back is more realistic at this stage

There was a livestream last year, wasn't there, for at least part of the event? Or at least some sort of filming happened. I know there are some recordings floating about YouTube from the FS/FD, though they're not great in terms of quality.

I think we saw the SD but only snippets of FD on French news.

I think it was the other way around, actually If I recall correctly, the SD wasn't taped and we saw it at Finlandia for the first time in its entirety. The FD was streamed at French Masters last year (here's a copy of Moonlight Sonata from the livestream).

Yes they even asked the audience not to record their SD. I forgot the FD was indeed broadcasted. I just wish they would film both programs like at Nationals, those super slow motion shots were breathtaking. Anyway, we should know soon enough the music. I can't wait.

Seriously, if they can't have a camera crew to film these few minutes that half of the world is impatiently waiting for, they don't deserve to have triple world champions in their fed.

I just realised that tomorrow we will see guillaume first work as a choreographer. Vanessa and morgan will be at the Autumn Classic the short program is tomorrow at 16:05.

I love it. I didn't expect to, because I hardly ever am impressed with pair skating (last year's Savchenko/Massot was a huge exception), but this is really gripping. The only thing I absolutely find horrible is the end pose, coming out of nothing and not fitting at all. But wow, that timing on the music, it's really beautiful. And Vanessa is such an eye-magnet.
