2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Am I correct when I say I thought Alina had Osgood Schlatter disease? I don’t think she’ll ever train quads with that kind of setback.

She had (and I guess, she still has). I don't remember was it an interview or Periscope stream but I can try to find it. Not now, may be 2 days after, when 4th stage of JGP will be over.

Tukt needs choreography. Her programs are just her skating around, waving her arms purposelessly, and jumping (albeit fabulously).

I’d like to take a minute to post some vintage Radionova just in case some of the newer posters aren’t familiar with some of her early work.

I’ll always have a soft spot for her andvprobablybalways will.
That one was good. And I thought that she was excellent during her full junior season - 12-13 - as well. Afterwards, her programs and performing somehow became very blah for me, when I thought that she was very enjoyable before. 13-14 her programs still were tolerable but everything after, just no.. The flailing and overperforming became far worse as well. To think that she once was capable of such lovely performing as in her 12-13 FS ...

Hi folks,

Just a friendly reminder

Please keep ALL competition chat in the Competition forums until the entire event is over. This includes scores, starting orders, elements, GOES, links to videos, etc.

You may discuss a skater's performance in their individual Fan Fest folder as long as you are not comparing them to other skaters or posting general event info until the competition is over.

Thanks for you understanding and for supporting Golden Skate!

This may get deleted and I don’t know why I’m posting it here, but:

Anna’s layback and Lipnitskaya spin (or biellmann or needle spin) gives me life. As well as her last spin.

I can’t wait to check it out :)

Anastasia (Tarakanova) has a very nice Beillmann and interesting spins in general. She acknowledged in an interview once that one of the things she looks forward to is creating new spin positions. As far as a traditional beillman goes and other than Radionova I think Anastasia has maybe the most beautiful looking form.

BTW: There is a video floating around of Yulia doing the Needle spin the other day in front of her the Academy. She still has it :hap93:

If you know where to find it, can you please send a link of the Yulia video? ^^

Tarakanova's flexibility is unparalleled. Her spin positions were part of why I liked her right away when I first saw her.

Congrats to Liza.
Not everything is perfect, but she looked like she wants to fight for that spot this year.

Comments like these are fine :) We are just asking folks not to post scores, starting orders, elements, GOES, links to videos, etc. In other words, do not use this thread or others to substitute and undercut the competition forums.

Mishin needs to get some better layouts for his skaters.
Even with the 3A, Liza is only attempting 6 triples.
I bet those of us on here could think of much better layouts.

I'll start:
3A
3Lz-3T
3Lo
3S-2T-2Lo
------
2A-3T
3F
3Lz

I think that Liza has some stamina issues, which is the reason she's doing this "easier" layout.
At least, the stupid 3S-2A sequence is finally gone, even Kostner had a smarter layout than Liza last year.
