He seemed like he knew the born was not broken but was about his ligament, so my impression from his comment was he went to the hospital at least once. But I agree it is strange it is not getting better and I hope he will see the doctor one more time.
The flip side of giving judges more power to determine placements via expanded GOE is that judging deviations will be more obvious. Apparently this judge in particular had a recent suspension (but it was over harassment or abuse or something, which IMO is a bigger reason to never let him judge again than bias).

He says his body simply has not been keeping up with the program yet, and he needs satisfactory practice to match the program itself. About 4T-3A, it is not about "first thing ever in the competition" and he just wants to do his best combination jump which he thinks is quad-3A, he was thinking about doing it in the performance today.

I did something to a knuckle once, it took what I recall as FOREVER to go down (it was years ago) the pain went before the swelling!
What? Why the hell he is still allowed to judge? He's obviously letting his anger out.

He has not reached "expression area" yet since he thinks it can't be done without beautiful jumps. He is not thinking about the strategy very much after performing SP and FS in this competition. When he was asked "looking back on the first competition.", he said "I am sorry that this happens in every first competition in the season, but I thought I was able to get only around 260 points again." And in the end, to a question "Did this competition become the driving force to you?", he answered "I will do my best. Really. I really will.":thumbsup:

It's another beautiful program from Yuzuru. It's the start of the season so I'm not that surprised about the score. And the costume looks nice. He'll perform this program better and better. Cheers for the gold!

But he's in way better shape than he was last year, or the year before that.

I don’t think he’s where he was last year. He’s still thinner than he usually is, though noticeably stronger compared to the Olympics (and clearly healthy and happy). He almost peaked too soon for the 2018 games, according to Brian, and that sounds about right. But he was off-ice for months with the injury and obviously not able to skate to his full capacity for months after we saw him at the Olympics, and what he was doing in shows is different from a 4-minute free with four quads and two 3As. My guess is that he just needs more time to build stamina and get back to his competitive groove. The 30-second time cut would be hard enough to adjust to even if you were in peak condition and “only” had to learn two new routines, but combine it with how busy Yuzu was post-Olympics, lingering injury, and the fact that he still has to rebuild muscle from the worst of the injury... and then you look at how insane his free programme is in terms of steps, choreo, and the layout... I’m less nervous than I was back in the early days, when his lips would be blue after he skated, but I definitely have the oxygen tank on standby just in case. [emoji23]
OMG I had the same memories back watching him sitting down after ending his performance panting hard- as if he was that young boy again hitting his first Senior season competitions.

As long as they fly to the ice from up above I consider it a Pooh air fleet (Pooh Air Force).
