I’m less nervous than I was back in the early days, when his lips would be blue after he skated...

Oh god, I recall the first time I saw that on video, even though it was years later it was so scary... everyone around him must have had their hearts in their throats every time they watched him.

Most people would have given up just for that, let alone the injuries, nerves and incredible pressure. Our Yuzu is made of special (okay, and sometimes terrifyingly stubborn) stuff, which is why he is the champion he is.

Hmm, that's very interesting how he sounded totally normal in Japanese but hardly said anything clear in English. Has he had problems with English press distorting what he says?

Haha, this is not new. It's more like you get nervous speaking in a foreign language; the more you want to say it correctly, the less you can remember the word you are trying to find. He has always, always, sound like this. He is articulate, beyond his years, in Japanese. So I think he wants to express himself correctly in English too but it's very hard.

Yeah, it's amazing how different he sounds in English and Japanese. Honestly, I think part of the problem is that Japanese is just a way more expressive language than English. Sometimes I feel like I can express myself better in Japanese despite being nowhere near fluent. I just don't remember his English being quite that hesitant, at least recently.

I've seen interviews from when he was a kid, and even as a non-native speaker, I could tell that he was unusually eloquent for his age. Also, I will never get over how his first-person pronoun has been 俺 ever since he was a little kid. Who'd ever imagine that by his skating and costumes?

I love everything about it. I’m not worried about his score. He always flop in the beginning and peak later during the season. The 7 in his TR though... I can feel the burn in the pit of my stomach. We all know where that judge is from

You could see Lord Murderface surfacing as you watched, and it was a glorious thing too :gclap: (and I still think he has dragon blood, the boy has such a thing for hoarding gold)

I have already downloaded a disconcerting number of pictures and videos... aren't we lucky that we have the man with the most online goodies to harvest?

I was really worried about the finger situation too, but then I saw he was clapping the others skaters as usual. I mean if his hand was really painful he wouldn't clap, would he? Or he could clap one hand against the other wrist or forearm to avoid using the injured hand, but that didn't seem to be the case. At least, that's how it looked on the stream.

Every time he says "Ore (俺）" in front of the camera, I am startled and really like it (because it rarely happens)
