I do not know the truth or not, but people write that Alena has an allergy to cold, this is not good

Allergy to cold can appear suddenly and at any age , my wife lived 5 years in Yakutsk where the usual cold -45 ..- 50 and she did not have problems .
Now we live in a warmer climate and she has an allergy to the cold and she feels uncomfortable in the winter on the air
 
I think she only caught a cold, she was pale and turned to red after one minute, lucid eyes before the program, red nose.
Maybe she thought, in addition to illness, that mistake on the axel it was just a bad weekend.
 
I am very worried about Alena - not for the popped jump, mistakes happen to even the best of skater, but for her confidence and mental wellbeing.

It seems to me that the pressure of internal competition and being (perhaps) regarded as #3 in her training group may be affecting her really negative. I don't think it's healthy for someone so young and so accomplished to feel like they can't even make a mistake or their career might be negatively affected. Personally, Alena is the junior that I am looking forwards to seeing in seniors the most, and I really hope that she is not cast aside in favor of her quad-jumping training mates before that can happen. Seeing her so distraught after a mistake makes me think that she's carrying way too much pressure on her shoulders at the moment :(
 
Very strong girl. You can tell how shocked she was after accidentally popping her 2A. But she didn't allow that mistake to affect the rest of her program. Everything else was perfect.
 
I wish Alyona the best. Hope, everything will be alright and that the current state of her health is not that bad.

Are you saying she should leave her training group because the pressure is too much on her? The ISU changed the rules to benefit artistry and that should help Alena when she goes to seniors since she is the most beautiful figure skater in ladies seniors or ladies juniors.

I kind of wish her mother was there with her. Partly because she looked like she needed a mum hug and partly because I remember an interview after one her jgp last year where she said her mother kept telling her that these are just that - JUNIOR grand prix competitions. A stepping stone to bigger things and a chance to experience it all early but really just a tiny part of what the sport has to offer and nothing to get too excited about. Hopefully once she gets home her mother will remind her of that again.
 
Lol, I love how the YouTube sheep are all like, "b-b-b-but but...she popped a double Axel! She should be last place! Total scandoruru!!!" like, um no...You have the privilege of watching the rise of probably the greatest on ice performer in the last decade...sit down, gtf over it, and shut up. So you're going to complain when the artistic components of this sport aren't rewarded properly, but you also going to b***h and moan when they are rewarded properly, like which is it then? :think: Sorry your preferred nation isn't stomping the field but you look petty and dumb. OMG she popped a double Axel. End. Of. The. Freaking. World. :rolleye: Hope she does well in the free. I still hate her FP, but that's her choreographer's fault. She could skate the Chicken Dance and I'd still watch it cause she's that artist.

Are you sure? I know her mother goes with her to the rink most days but I remember Alena saying that usually she prefers to travel alone (and did last year besides worlds) because her mother insists on everything always being in its place in the hotel room and moves everything around which leaves her agitated. If her mother is there with her this year perhaps that explains the emotions lately.

the free program will be more telling as to what's really going on. this could definitely be playing into her emotions; i can't imagine the pressure those girls are under, especially being coached by eteri. i hope she somehow really begins to see her potential and how special her skating truly is, and that she is in a class of her own in that group.
 
she was at the previous JPG stage as far as I know. :scratch2:
Most of the times they all travels with their parents. but off course some exceptions could always happen.

I'm like that a bit as well. All I know is that during her interview with Tatjana Flade that she usually goes to competitions alone because if she goes with her mother she becomes insists on everything being neat and moves Alena's things around the hotel room and that agitates her. I was actually under the impression that most of the Russian skaters usually go without their parents.

juniors - (most of them) - no
