Yes, when you think about how much she growth so she must have saved her jumps in the first place, it's only more amazing how she improve them, especially axel. She must work very hard on the jumps so far .. Well done Alina!

there's a guy on twitter making a whole ass thread about alina "almost flutzing" her LzLo combo in FS from the view of her side-on and then with this whole spiel about her being UR when the video shows she isn't. if i hear another word "flutz" or "UR" or "overscored PCS", like damn i wish alina just stomps on all these people with her skates and smashes them with her Lutz.
it's really annoying to see how unbelievably salty some people are and everyone loves to discredit her, but she's really above and beyond. one of my hopes for this season is for alina to really rise above all the haters and clean all her programs wonderfully like we know she can (and will) and then put all those naysayers to rest and stun them into silence. for once, i just wish this girl will have everyone's recognition and acknowledgment that she deserves

About the interview:
It's so great to start the season with a happy and smiley Alina, that's my main wish for her, that she is always able to smile. She is such a kind girl, caring, and deserves to be in environments that allow her to be happy.
Oberstdorf was one such environment, the mood on the ice, the skaters behaviors, was all the way I hope every competition to be. It helps that she remembered her Grandma's house, here I'm thinking she is talking about the Grandma that lives in Izhevsk, she has pictures in what looks more like a "rural area", great that she could find that memory of warmth and love and hold on to it.
Alina is so transparent too, Eteri mentioned that in a written interview that I linked somewhere on this thread, how she always "tells you" how she is feeling (meaning her internal mood) and we could I see she was worried before and during the SP. As it ended she relaxed and I hope that with that huge sigh of relief her tension and the feeling of carrying others' expectations were able to leave her for good. She should skate feeling her love for it, and she did on her FS, showing her characteristically happy face when that one ended.
I thought it was a funny slip when she erased Worlds, but it should really be erased and the mood she should carry with her moving forward is of her great skates here and how she felt dancing around the rink in the ice with that trophy during her victory lap with Mai and Loena.

Just watched ladies gala training. Her program looks really good. Still no costume but with leather jacket. She was still testing what to do with it.
At the end she shows some good 3Lutz-3Loop-3Loop and 3Lutz-3Loop-3T combos and parts of her LP.

Thank you for the report, I want to see her so much!!! Have tons of fun!!! And wow at the combos she is trowing into her EX.....I'm amazed.
The Lara Croft jacket will be a different prop than that candle...it will be amazing to see how she handles it.

I mean, man, you didn't warm up to a rich girl with daddy issues kicking some serious *****? First movie the only great thing was Angelina Jolie and, for me, Daniel Craig. I could watch, and look, at Daniel Craig doing laundry for hours for all I care. If it was my laundry even better. Insert my husband's huge eye roll whenever I say this
Second movie I had to make do with Angelina and Gerard Butler. New movie I watched with both my kids, how times change, and it was better than I expected, since I expected complete crap you can say the bar was low. Alicia Vikander (although better than I expected in that role) doesn't have the personality to carry a big movie like this, and Dominic West (my favorite eye candy in that cast) didn't have a lot of great things to do. It was watchable, which is more than I can safely say with lots of things I have to watch with my kids.Circling back to Alina, she has the right look for Lara Croft and I think she'll have fun with it. A sporty girl! Something new for her to tackle and we see how well she does with purely feminine characters (she loves girly stuff) so she'll bring some of that into Lara I bet.

Alina definitely delivered the first proof of the season that she is here to play. She reminded everyone that she is the reigning Olympic Champion and she skated like it. She also proved that the Zagitova Rule didn't affect her in the least. Her programs are more difficult. Her jumps are even better. Her growth spurt did nothing but make her lines even more beautiful.
The Nebelhorn judges (seriously the ONLY people whose opinion matters for those two routines she just skated) rewarded her for all of this by giving her the scores she earned.
Some people will always be salty and ridiculous. They are just shouting into the wind. But I think Alina impressed some of her doubters. (Hi, TAT!)

Just realized that, to my extreme sadness, the Gala will be smack in the middle of my afternoon, and I have to take (and attend) a kiddie birthday party with one of my kids. Call me the most unhappy of campers. Tried everything I could to make my husband go in my place but he, besides the will to not go that I shared, also has a work seminar to get ready to so he won out and I'm taking one for the team. Can't be completely antisocial on this so I won't be able to watch at all. I wanna cry!!!
As is, I can't cry and I must be brave and go do some adulting for a change.
I hope to the seven heavens that the stream will show the full gala and that I'll be able to watch it when I get home.
Wish me luck, sanity, and good earplugs to handle hours with a bunch of screaming kids.

Katarina Witt also likes Alinaprobably happy to see her skate to Carmen as well. She said in an interview before Olympics that she likes Alina's arm movements and prefers her over Zhenya as gold favorite

I have a question about costumes in general. Are the million sequins and crystals glued on, stitched on, or both? I’d imagine you’d want it as secure as possible to avoid getting any deductions in competition, but it would also be an insane amount of work to stitch all those by hand.
