Yes they are and he looks wonderful in that color and costume. I wonder if Arriba slipped a note to Sho's Mom
at Glaciers ;)

Hopefully they're coming back after Christmas. We'll have to prepare some DBC requests and pass them on to her...And now I find myself wondering if we'll see a new Moonlight Shomata costume at Sk Can. As always, he likes to keep us guessing.

On another note, I know none of us were thrilled when he did Turandot again last year, but his encore of it reminds me of how majestic that music is and how well it suits him. I think it was the right choice for the Olympic season. It really has a very strong impact when he skates it, whether for the first-time viewers during the Olympics, or for this crowd who have seen him perform it so many times before yet still scream and cheer this loudly (complete with standing ovation) at the end of the performance.

Mr. Tree asked famous big brother to speak up for him during the student council election campaign, resulting in Mr. Tree winning a whopping 80% of the votes. Never go up against Mr. Tree. He's too smart and has powerful connections.

Even in that simpler costume, you could still feel the power of Turandot. I loved it! I even loved it when he used it for his senior debut season in his leprechaun costume! (And I was thrilled when he did it last season!)

that performance of Stairways was just breathtaking. My god.
And love the new outfit, but also loved the red one, both looking very modern and graphic. Shoma is hot af

LOL this might be the most unpopular opinion ever but I actually really loved that he used Turandot for his Olympic moment. As overused as it is, Turandot is the perfect vehicle for someone making a bold statement on the biggest stage of their career. When the right skaters (Shizuka, Shoma, Shen/Zhao, Sui/Han) skate to this music, it's quite magical and otherworldly and you forget that they're skating to a warhorse.

I thought that Turandot was a great piece! I guess it helps that I am one of the newer Shoma fans! :p
Actually for me the build-up of the music and the triple jumps on the beat really made it work for him, even after his quad loop fall! I couldn't imagine what else could have worked so well for him at that point.

And then to find out he did Turandot a couple of years earlier, in that 2015 Grand Prix final too! :luv17:
He looked so glowing in the medal ceremony (in his 'green leprachaun' outfit)!

Shoma's innate intensity is perfect for the build up of the music. The second half is so good because of how the elements (and obligatory cantilever) seem to be timed with the swells of the music. Turandot from GPF 2015 is the program that I rewatch on a monthly basis LOL. It blew my mind that a 17 year old could pull off such majestic music.

GPF 2015 is where he hooked me... I blame his cantilever at the end. There should have been a warning or something. Life did not prepare me for that.
What a performance of StH at the Carnival on Ice! I watched it 3 times already... :luv17:

To be honest he still looked around 17 to me until I saw his StH at Carnival on Ice... maybe 18 now! :agree2:
His growth in confidence helps him even more on and off the ice in my opinion.

I love his cantilever in the GPF! I think it gets shortened now what with all the jumps he has to fit into the programs. Now he does a longer one in the encore of Turandot!

btw I can't believe I spelled leprechaun wrongly before. I'll stick with wine :o:, I adore his new Wine Costume and it is much more favourable to praise and type!

Really? Just 3 times? That's easily accomplished... Or have you watched it 10 times by now? [emoji1]

Yes, his STH performance was super kakkoii! The female commentator who kept exclaiming "Kakkoii! Subarashi! Kakkoii!" speaks for us all, I think.

Love the new costume, his confidence, the power of his performance, the cantilever... :dbana:

i just wanna say that the gala performance just put the biggest smile on my face this morning. The SP is just out of this world, watching him is always so exciting and it seems he is really coming to his own, so good to see. Cannot wait for his upcoming performances.

I totally agree! Love this costume and this program so much and then doing the encore of Turandot made me very happy as well. I really love when he does the cantilever. His skating just stands out so much. It's beautiful and powerful all in one.

Some tweets said "the female commentator probably forgot she's working (as she's too concentrated in watching Shoma's performance) and she just kept saying Shoma's kakkoi!"

I remember there's another tv program that playback the OG. It showed a male commentator was watching Shoma's FS live, he was really moved by Shoma's performance that he just cried and forgot to comment! Then he cheered for Team Japan when he knew Shoma got silver (and Japan won gold and silver medal)

Shoma has the magic to turn everyone to :dbana:

The female commentator is one of us, she's another honorary member of the DBC! I was just like her but in Spanish and (fortunately) I wasn't working  Shoma has the magic touch and bewitches all of us. :dbana:

Arriba, purple fits him perfectly because he's a Prince! 👑

3 whole times?! You're slipping! Add a zero! :laugh2:

No footage from stairway to heaven or the recent ice shows? Tsk, tsk. [emoji12] You know it's not anyone from here then. We do like the way he moves, though. [emoji1]

I am waiting Dr H to make an even better one to shoom more people! Shospital needs more "residents" (I guess DBC always welcome new comers!)
Great spirit footage is a MUST! STH as well :-)
