Sasha has beauty in her skating but I totally disagree that she skates the most beautiful program in the world.

She hasn't really changed her program in three years - basically, telling me that what we've seen is just about it.

I believe there are several female skaters that have it all over her, and one of them is Ekaterina Gordeeva - even though she doesn't do triple jumps, she does to double jumps - and she does them beautifully.

There are other female skaters who do better jumps that Sasha and who are technically as well as artistically better.

I think Sasha has gone just as far as she can in every way when it comes to skating.

Well, it's a new era now, the Divas are gone so let's see if we get any more fan feuds.

Asada vs Kim is a rivalry that's already heating up.

One is aesthetic, the other athletic.

Some claim Asada has a restrained style that is very elegant, others think that she is still and unartistic.

No one has anything negative to say about Kim, except that she is second best to the more superior Asada (according to Asada's fans anyway.)

who would'nt be a little bit divish if you could do what she does on the ice. She is the best sakter in the world, athough she dosne't have the medals to prove it. Yes, in the early John Nicks year she skated with a fire and a passion and SPEED! Torosva brought out so much in her, but when she returned home to John Nicks, she oddon't skate with that passion as much anymore and was skting more slower and carfully. Seeing her at the 20065 olympics though was amazing. All her passion and fire and spunk and speed came pouring out in one beautiful SP.

Oh I agree Red Dog. All this talk of Cohen being the best skater out there. She only won ONE major competition, the Grand Prix Final, and even then her main competition (Irina) wasn't at her best because of an ill mother. Sasha had so many chances to prove she was "teh best" and she never won in any of those attempts. Sasha is a talented skater and certainly good, but never was the best. I hope she does well in Hollywood.

I've seen some non-flattering comments about Zhang, but not Meissner. Other than "boring" or "her skating does nothing for me", people don't seem to have enough of an issue with her to duke it out. Why? One reason is the "pwetty pwincess" image hard at work. (Not a bad thing, BTW.)

Oh yeah, and lack of an American rival. That's the big one. :yes:

I remember the time when it was forbidden for any skater to step to the ice before the previous skater received her marks, applause or flowers. In my opinion, this courtesy should be reinstated and embraced by all skaters.

Back in this day, I believe a skater could lose marks for such (considered) unsportmanship behavior.

Why was it that skaters in that time, performed really good performances without the preliminary 20 seconds on ice as a warm-up? Why in the past couple of years, do skaters think that that stomping on to the ice before the previous skater has received their rewards benifits them? Have such skater' s forgotten what the ice feels like while waiting ., ex 30 minutes?

As soon as the music stops, some charge out of the gate as though they were a raging bovine heading for the rodeo. Simply RUDE.

Have you been to a competition judged using COP? The wait for marks can be anything from 5 minutes to 15minutes (when there has bee a computer glitch). I can tell you that a group can take nearly an hour to skate and receive their marks and if you are the sixth skater taking to the ice after 50 minutes of waiting having had a six minute warm up before, you relish getting on the ice and getting your skates underneath you and preparing and focussing on the ice you are about to skate on.
