I thought about that at first but Kurt said Nathan had used it in a "classical" program and I can't figure out when that was. He did something like that in Rawhide but can't think of a classical program with it.
He said that Nathan has done it before and that he had seen that type of move in a more classical program, but I'm not sure he meant to say, that it was Nathan himself who did it in a classical program. But I guess it could be the steps he does right after the camel spin in his Prince Igor program, no? Fits Kurt's description of how it looked vs. Caravan.
I think I prefer Nathan's hair here in practice.

Seems like he applied hair gel after practice.
Yeah, I hate the hair gel, hate it on people in general... :disapp: and he goes really overboard with it... but what you gonna do to tame that kind of luscious, thick curls...
He won’t but I really wish he would keep it at 3-4 quads. That seems to be the maximum number of quads he can do while still being able to actually pay attention to choreography. I really don’t want to see his fs become another program where the music plays in the background while he lands his quads.
Yeah, he should aim for 4 quads at the most... not only are fewer quads the safer choice and leave more room for choreo and make for a better program (less jumping passes you're likely to mess up in some way), he also won't have to do such a variety of them, so he can leave out 4Lo and 4S and focus on and specialise in a smaller number of quads.
They don’t know that Nathan was going to Gadbois, and Shae-Lynn came to Yale to work with Nathan.
As to shine’s concern, I think the win from SkAm would greatly boost his confidence in continue trying the current layout, and thus sticking to his goal to concentrate on performance.
As far as we know, Nathan only went to Gadbois once for a touch-up of his programs (so far).
He also made it pretty clear in several interviews, that he's aiming to put in more quads into his programs, and that might be as early as GP France, and I assume at the latest the GPF. I don't think he'll go for 6 quads this season with his current training situation (away from Raf and with the double load of school), but I'm afraid he's aiming at 5 for sure.
What evidence is there that Nathan plans to keep his watered down layout for the rest of the season let alone until 2022? Recall that he started off the season the same way last year at US Classic with a 1 quad SP and a 3 quad FS.
While the other top guys seem to be struggling with their layouts Nathan looks like he could add another quad today if he wanted to.
Yeah that's the thing, Nathan started his season pretty late this time, got his programs rather late, had to move to the east coast and get used to school life, with no competitions prior to JO... so shape-wise and in terms of how far he's adjusted to the new season, new rules and competing again with his new programs, he's now approx. at the point the other men were when they were doing their challenger events, only that for Nathan it wasn't a B-event but actually his first GP.
Considering all that, he's done a lot better than most of the other men.
(I'm discounting JO now that I know that he was struggling with his health in his first month at yale and still slightly coughing at SA too)
Re Nathan's improved 3A... he did pop it at CoI in Japan... and even though the one from his SP at SA was gorgeous, the one he did in his FS didn't look as nice and was close to UR as his 3A frequently is... so I am still worried...
