The writer is Mie Noguchi.

The title is “‘I ‘ am the one to beat”

Shoma is starting this new Olympics cycle with a new attitude. He only used to skate for himself but now he wants to meet the fans expectations. Especially in ice shows his motivation is wanting the audience to enjoy his skating.

His principle is “practice so he could win”, He is competing against himself. So if he is second place he should regret his training not the competition itself.
He felt he won over himself. He had only a 50% suucess rate in his 4Lo in practice, but his practice of “doing the rest of the performance clean” was successful. So he is satisfied with the silver.
However he regrets the GOF at Nagoya last year because he did not do the combo in second half, which he would never do in practice. He did not believe Iin himself enough and backed off from doing the second jump. This season he will believe in himself and if he fails he will also accept the kuyashii feeling.

He was able to believe in himself in the JO. He did not want to jump the 3Sal+3 T, he was worried if his legs would give out but he believed in himself and succeeded.

Up till now he felt he had to be strong, even when he struggled with the 3A he pretended to believe he can. Now he is going in the opposite direction and feels it’s OK for others to see his weaknesses .

When he was a child in the skating club, he was surrounded by women who spoiled him and said he was a good boy, so he felt he had to be good. the good boy. In fact, he would do mischief once he gets friendly with someone. When he went to high school he would talk with other boys about games and other... can’t say it here(lol)... in games he would do anything to win, but skating is a battle against himself.

(About rule changes)
Jump quality has always been important but now it is crucial. Musicality and originality will win points but ultimately you need to “wow” the audience with the jumps. He takes care so that his jump would have a good flow going out of the jumps, and practices.

He looks forward to going to see Daisuke compete. He has not gone to see anyone skate since he went to watch Mao Asada when he was a child. He does not want to imitate Daisuke but he really likes Daisuke as s person and as a skater.

Last season was so fruitful, as a child he would never have imagined he would be where he is now. Now he feels a bit grown up because he is skating with a sense of responsibility. He is going to his first GP with more intensity than ever before.

Hi, I'm new here, I love Shoma's skating. I am bad with English, but I wanted to greet them after following this thread for months. Thanks for all your updates, if your accept me I request to join the DBC.

I'm sorry, my english is bad

Welcome CuhyShoma! We've been waiting for you. Never any worries about English. We speak two languages -- skating and Shoma, united by our love for Shoma. You're joining at a fun time -- it's gonna be a great season!

Has anyone else noticed the little envelope to the far right of all the FF's threads. If you click it on it tells you
how many posts from that thread have been deleted. 233 posts from Shoma's FF have been deleted. :scratch2:

So that’s what that is. They appeared a couple of days ago but I was on my phone and nothing happened when I clicked on it. Good to know

Yes. I noticed how other FF maybe have 5 or 6 deletions. I remember someone talking on Twitter about all the posts he/she deleted. I always wondered what that referred to. Could it be this? :scratch3: Then not long after that, things were switched so we were not able to delete posts.

I got this one.

https://twitter.com/teamkissandcry/status/1054203953045327872?s=21

I really like it very much.
It's a thin magazine, but 3/4 is Shoma.
I would like to donate a Kiss & Cry to Sho Spa and Resort or I'd like to circulate it to DBC members.
I'll send it someone in DBC Oceanian branch, and someone will send it to someone in DBC South American branch or something, and ….
And how about we would make a Shoma banner by DBC members?
It must be great if we could take it to competitions all over the world Shoma goes.:hap10:
Sorry it's just my imagination, but I have fun.
And sorry for my English.:party2:

News interview clip (1/3)

Shoma talks about his calendar quotes
(1) Gaming impacts his skate
Both in games and Skate He hates to lose, so he think s about the reason he failed and makes more effort

(2) Differentiating between “aggressive “ and “reckless”

He succeeded in 4S at Lombardia by coincidence when he had not really succeeded much in practice. He and tricked himself into thinking he had it. But this was wrong, the program did not get better and ended up putting it aside right before the Olympics

Being Aggressive is to go all out and do what he is able; reckless is when he knows it is beyond his capacity but does it anyway hoping he would succeed by chance.
