Remember Euro this year, Carolina even with such bad skate still won a medal with 73+ PCS. If Zhenya got bronze or even 4th she still can qualify by winning the 2nd event. so her going to GPF is still possible.

So, after sleeping on it, id like to comment on Zhenya's new dress.
The program itself was described as “a little sexy, a little sassy, a little naughty" by Bezic.
The problem with the current dress is that it is none of that. It is not ugly, but it could be worn with any of Zhenya's programs under Eteri. It just does not fit the program.
And I don't even demand a "jazz" dress here. Even Zhenya's training outfit with flesh colored tighs would probably do better - yep, not really a jazz thing, but it is some modern sassy and sexy, which is better than a lyrical type of dress.
Specifically, the dress color. When I google "jazz dress", i see a lot of black, some red and gold. I do not see many muted colors, and not sure if the used color was a good choice with this program.

I find it somewhat interesting that the same people who praise Liza for her comeback and strong showing are also saying Zhenya is done (witnessed a lot of that in Twitter). Liza was struggling in 2016 and 2017, in 2018 she is still not done and is doing fabulously. Zhenya is nowhere near finished.
Actually makes sense. While Mishin didn't abandon Liza, Liza also stayed with Mishin even though her results were not great, and she could have tried moving to different coaches in hopes of getting someone who could coach her into the Olympics.
That is not the case with Zhenya.
So i see no contradiction really.
Because tbh carolina should have won the SP there but sadly she was behind zagi and med,her SP help her despite her disastrous FS.

It’s no longer the first pancake and Jason Browns poor performance is also suggestive of problems with Orsers training method. Maybe he has too many skaters now to focus his attentions.
Yep, where i think though Elizabet is improving is on the consistency. So she should get higher scores with more lenient panels. (and she did already earlier this season)
While with Brian even in those occasions she had major mistakes like popping the combo or falls.

I agree with you about the dress. I think a halter neck type dress would flatter her mid section more and body overall. Kind of like the polka dot dress that one of the Japanese skaters was wearing, but not with polka dots. However at this point her dress is the last of my concerns

But can you use a workout type outfit for your performance. Because Evgenia looks great in hers.

true but one of her worst FS (both performance and dress lol) still got almost 130. if Zhenya is semi clean it wont be hard to move up. Starr is not consistent and i cant see her getting 130, same with Mariah. the only 130+ contender is Zhenya, and top 3.

I remember Kulik in the first year at TAT. It was his worst year: no medal at Euro, no medal at world. Next year he came strong and won Oly. Sometimes people need time for changes.

People have been writing Liza off for years - since before her 2014-15 season. In fact, her first competition that season was a local St Petersburg one where she did loads of doubles. She had had back problems. People were sure she was done.
People are always writing skaters off - it seems to be a hobby for some. If these people were all soothsayers there'd scarcely be a skater left on the circuit.

I think she slipped off her toe pick when she was going for that flip. These accidents happens sometimes.

Other than her fluke mistake in the combo, the area where Med received major deductions were due to technique under Eteri, which is the flying camel where she got level 2, and the Lutz, where she got (!), and the Lutz is actually much improved with Orser. People leave because they're not happy. Can you blame Zhenya if she wants to remember what food looks like, and not be with a coach that believes her career is over? People so quick to say it is a mistake to go to Orser

Her SP is growing on me. I'm going to seek out the piano sheet music to Orange Colored Sky. She was selling the program.
