She obviously made it better in FP, from last to 6th place in the free :agree:
Overally 9th place, but at least she can say to herself she can do better.

I was so sad after her SP but she improved in the FS! Still a lot to work on, a 9th place definitely isn‘t up to her potential but at least she showed that she‘s willing to fight.

But what leaves me worried... isn‘t her next event next weak already? She definitely has the potential to be in the top 5 there, the field doesn‘t seem too strong if I‘m remembering correctly (other than Alina and Kaori of course) but she’d need to be better than this week. I hope she isn‘t too tired after the last two days... only 5 days to rest and work on things to improve isn‘t too much at all. That‘s why it would be better if she had more time. I hope she can redeem herself in Finland.

Alina and Darya are friends, so this may have the positive impact on Darya.

People said — bad practice in Helsinki, no jumps , falls, Dasha is crying :(

:sad21: :sad21:

I‘m wishing for her to have a decent skate at least better than in practice!! Come on, Dasha!! Or maybe she should withdraw? She hasn‘t got any chance for the final anyway and why torture yourself like this? :(

The only word is: (I can't say it)... :sad21:
What the hell happened to her. This can't be explained just by changing a coach. Dasha had one of the most stable jumps in the branch, she had pretty solid test skates (in fact maybe the best of all this season). Can't she have some personal problems?

anyone know if maybe she had a run in with her old coach? could have shaken her up ...

To paraphrase what I said in the Russian Ladies thread the other day; People who were at Skate Canada and saw Dasha in training thought that she looked like she was skating on an injury (or potentially - and I think this was someone being optimistic - breaking in a new pair of boots).

They said that they expected her to withdraw before the free skate after watching her in the final training (she really struggled with all the jumps in her runthrough, seemed like she was in quite a bit of pain, and she spent 10min crying on her coaches shoulder) but that she actually looked much, much better in the actual free skate.

So yeah, it seems like it might be an injury issue. I'm wondering if it might be something like a stress fracture that hasn't quite healed properly/which has been aggravated by preparation for the GP season. I remember she had one on the JGP last year.

I was at the Skate Canada practise sessions, and yeah, she looked in pain there. After one botched landing, in particular, she skated right past my seat and she looked to be fighting back tears. She does seem to be trying to compete through an injury.

I don't know why she is declared to compete in Alpen Trophy next week AND Tallinn Trophy this month too if she is injured :(

Dang :(
I know she's one heck of a determined girl but I would hope her coach would stop this.

In Alina's thread there is a video of today's training an hour long, but the camera is focused only on Alina. I tried to catch something from Dasha's skating but she only sometimes moves through the shot so any impression can be skewed.

Samohin was born in Russia..Mayorov..his name tells a lot! ;)

I know, that Mayorov was born in st. Petersburg (last weekend the Eurosport commentators repeated it at least five times ) and that Samohin's parents were russian, but in this context i didn't find it necessary to explain it here :)
