If I'm not mistaken, this will be the debut of Akatieva and Zhilina in this season.
Very interesting to see their new programs.

Tuktamysheva, she with Trusova, Shcherbakova and Kostornaia are the future of Russia and the world of skate.

Erm... where‘s the Olympic, European, Russian and GPF Champion in that statement??! I know some people are willing to count Evgenia out after her struggles so far and I won’t comment on that but Alina of all people?

Who's Samodelkina's coach? i've just been seeing people praising her skating on twitter and idk who she is so i'm curious. Also if you could please share videos? thanks

Sergey Davydov (coach of Tarusina and Vasilieva from the JGP)
FS from Figurist comp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOF0yYpiTSo not perfect, with the bobble on the -3Lo and the 3Fe but pretty darn good for an 11 year old.

Folks,

For competition chat, you can discuss skater(s) that are competing as along as your post does not includes scores, starting orders, elements, GOES, links to videos, analyzing, comparing, etc. until after the entire event is over (but you can do so before the Gala;))

If you have complaints, please post them in the Feedback forum and do not further derail the thread.

Thanks!

Honestly - I don't know how I can watch three competitions at the same time next week - this, Russian Cup event in Kazan (Trusova, Kostornaya, Tarakanova, Pogorilaya etc.), and NHK  :scratch2: It's competitions that I wouldn't want to miss either.. ugh :drama:

Still recovering from the week in September when CS Lombardia, CS US International Classic, and JGP Richmond all ran at the same time.

It's possible, but you may be less enthused the next week. [emoji6]

It seems like Alina's programs this season were done primarily by Daniil's mother, the retired Bolshoi ballet dancer. She is listed ahead of Daniil in Alina's ISU profile, and the first name is generally the main choreographer. Since there is so much stylistic disagreement on her POTO, this is pretty interesting.

I doubt. I don't think that she works on ice with the skaters. And Alina said - during the press conference and before - that the programs are made by Daniil and Eteri.

It's weird then she is listed as first choreographer on ISU bio. If its the case she did not do the choreography and Daniil and Eteri did, they should have that changed ASAP. Credit where it's due, and it's basically intellectual property (not sure if that's the correct term, but it's what we use in science).

Stage five preliminary entries are out:

what is Davydov doing? Samodelkina and Berestovskaya are too young for junior nationals. And Muravyeva is only doing one stage! (well, so is Kromykh) so they can't make nationals unless inserted the way Shcherbakova was last year

none of team Eteri in seniors. Relatively weak field so far with Tarusina, Sinitsyna, Gubanova, Fomina, Tsibinova, Istomina, and Gracheva. Juniors a bit better than usual: Kromykh, Shabotova, Muravyeva, Kostyuk, (Samodelkina), (Berestovskaya)

Have you seen that Anastasia Mukhortova is doing pairs now - she is on the entry list with partner Dmitri Evgeniev. So happy to see she has not stopped skating altogether :agree: Both are former single skaters so I do not expect much as of now, but nevertheless I am VERY happy to be able to see her skate again (always thought she would make a wonderful pair skater).

I know she tried singles again last year and I didn't know if it was the same Mukhortova - but it is it seems!
