Congratulations Shoma!!! :party2: First NHK well done!!!

MS is packed with content. I ask nothing more in it. Mihoko, Marie-France and Romain have created an untypical, intact and modern choreography to the piece. Can´t praise Shoma enough on how he skates and interprets it. Very impressed!

Congratulations on page 600! :hap10:
OR shall I simply say, considering what happened before -- congratulations on posts 11981-12000? :scratch2:

Or maybe we can just celebrate the fact that Shoma is one step closer to his dream of skating naked :agree:. Job well done Shoma!

I liked the previous costumes better “in themselves” but the new ones are definitely more flattering. Who would have thought darker, simpler costumes would be more kakoii?

From the back, I can't tell if this is Sho or Mr. Tree sightseeing in Hiroshima! Would Shoma really go sightseeing?! :luv17:

Adding -- It's Mr. Tree!

I hope so (They seemed to enjoy oyster!) . Now he has 4 weeks until GPF. Luckily, NHK cup moved earlier, and gives him the time to rest. The schedule of GPF and JP Nationals between 2 weeks is really hard. Until last year, NHK cup was 2 weeks before GPF.

And I was glad you enjoyed Skate Canada, and Gala! If my memory serves, you do not have much favor about gala, you prefer competition. But this time, you seemed to have a fun time at gala! I really think he is a sweet guy... Despite that he cannot speak English and communicate well, other skaters are kind to him. It is because of shoma's character.

Congrats Shoma! You deserved the win. You must have felt so much pressure in the competition in your mother country, but you did it! :hap10:

Of course, I love especially moonlight sonata. Already matured and has colourful nuance. Im looking forward to seeing it get grown.

^^^:laugh2: This commentary is great. We know we can always count on Uncle Kurt for the most insightful comments. One of the ladies (Carol Lane?) says "He skates so big for a small guy. He fills the arena." Uncle Kurt's response "I once watched him salt his eggs in the breakfast room. It was epic. Everything he does is BIG."

Such a fun event! The crowd loved Shoma!

During all of his interviews, the crowd kept laughing at his self-effacing ways or his blunt humor. He was smiling when he responded, and would laugh when the audience did so. The crowd adored him like a brother or son they were proud of and whom they loved for his funny personality. The question "what do you want to do 40 years from now?" asked in the interview before the gala, where he answered "Whatever!" Or "Nothing!" got a load of laughs (Sota had said before that that he wanted to still be involved with skating- translated for me by gacchan). Such an adorable boy. Even the podium was funny, because people laughed when he stepped directly on it, laughed again when they announced that he would be given the Hiroshima wreath, sounded disappointed when he put down the NHK Trophy so he doesn't have to juggle everything, then laughed again when he picked it up. This crowd knew him very well and loved him for it.

Loved Great Spirits too, but I didn't even realize the nipple sighting until I saw the pictures afterwards! He was so funny when he flopped down on the cantilever at the finale.

Congratulations to the NHK Trophy Gold medalist Shoma Uno!

I didn't get this too much abut is he saying that shoma made a mess while salting eggs?

LOL I thought Kurt said when Shoma salted his legs and I said WHAT. I listened again and he said eggs.
I think Kurt's comment was meant as a joke..

He is joking around and he means that Shoma is so great at doing everything big, that even stuff that he does off-ice is big. So he takes something simple / mundane (salting his eggs) and says that even that is done in a big way.

Adding -- oops. Sorry demarinis. Didn't realize you had already answered this question.

Generally, I haven't been a fan of Kurt Browning's comments on Shoma in the past two years. He's a bit hot and cold. I did like that "a skater's skater" comment. The eggs comment was silly. Carol Lane, on the other hand, I fully appreciate. I'd have preferred her to continue in that vein for a while.

I have to catch up on all the videos!

Are you talking about prerotation that Kurt mentioned? He is not the only ones. TSL mentions it too and how bad the flip technique is. In fact they say that they dont ever see him being clean because of it. But they love his skating just not the jumps too much. Kurt was actuallt more complimentary on jumps. And he has alway complimented Shoma skating.
