How? She was woefully under prepared for this event. I'm all for comebacks, but doing a GP as your first doesn't make sense. Judging by her practices, she is a LONG way from ready, be it physically, emotionally, or mentally.

If trying to avoid sectionals is her reason for being here, it was a bad one. She looks like it would serve her well. She was definitely unprepared.

Nice skate, but I'm kinda over the non-choreography and superfluous arm movements from Mishin's camp.

Sofia!!!! She brought some fire on the ice! Great job, clean skate and she has such great nerves, during her first GP season skating in front of her home audience like this!

She looks...out of shape by competitive skating standards. I did a double take when I saw her on screen.

Being that she is recovering from an eating disorder this is in poor taste. She is clear that her skating is not back where she wants to be- she will regain fitness in a way that is healthy for her. A competitive skater doesn't need to look like a 16 year old girl.

Ah, but if that's how she's usually skating (although I'm guessing it isn't) it's a very smart move to do this and leave off sectionals, where she might well not make it through. Now she's guaranteed a nationals berth and has a few more months to train. Very wise.

Anyways, nice job from Sofia! She looks so confident and happy.
