Alina Zagitova

We know, this sort of old witches is exist, and they never shut up

Yeah, I know but I’m still so annoyed by it. I can’t help it, I’m sorry...

I mean, just llet these girls work with their coaches in peace. Especially Alina, why do people seem so eager to use her? She always gets dragged into conflicts that aren‘t even her fault to begin with and I don‘t understand it. I‘d really love to just shrug it off and I sincerely hope Alina doesn‘t take all this bs seriously. But even Zhenya didn’t manage to shut everything out so I kind of start to worry. Alina is such a strong girl but she‘s only human. I want her to be happy and honestly, I just don‘t get why there ALWAYS has to be something rude being said about her. That girl is 16!! Don‘t people have a heart at all? They wouldn‘t do it if Alina was their sister or cousin or daughter, would they? They‘d think twice before spreading such stupid rumours! But because she‘s an athlete people think they can tell about her whatever they want? Do they expect her to be just a emotionless jumping robot who has no feelings?! No, I cannot understand that. I just hope Alina gets love and support from her coache, family and friends and manages to ignore this stupid, stupid hate. Be strong, Alina! There are people out there who love and support you whatever might happen.

Google tranlate . I am not sure correct

-Alina is being tolerated to take revenge on Eugenia

- Eteri tolerating her ? In what sense ?
- In the sense that in the summer Zagitova did not train in the rhythm that Eteri Georgievna suits. And Alina was able to maintain her health. I cannot be completely sure, but it seems to me that if it were not for Medvedeva’s departure, Tutberidze would not have spent her nervous energy and would tolerate, perhaps, the existing whims (naughtly) of Zagitova. She would have turned the other way and started working with young girls.

Wow. Unbelievable. It's actually kind of pathetic that any self-respecting adult would try to publicly demean a 16 year old reigning Olympic Champion. Maybe it's all due to the poor wording but at best it comes off as dismissive and petty. Why would you do that when you could just shut up and mind your own business? How desperate for attention is this person?

This is not the way to stay relevant. There is only one person who looks bad here. And this is the kind of stuff that stirs up nastiness going both ways among fans. Again, why in the world would you do this? At what point did these words sound good coming out of your mouth?

I'll keep my "thoughts" to myself on Besti's interview - for now because someone has pointed out the awkwardness of the translation.

In the past, I've been "told off" by a couple of people here because I lashed out at someone who gave their "opinions" in a previous interview.

I don't care if the entire "who's who" of Russian FS was rooting for Evgenia to win the Olympics.

But when your "opinion" then has to be elaborated on by saying things like....
"I like the new scoring system because it rewards maturity and not jumping" - that is a dig at Alina actually winning the Gold.
Not just saying you were rooting for Evgenia to win.
If people can't see how this is taking a subtle shot at Alina, I don't know what to tell you.

Or when someone else has to bring it up almost 9 months later DURING a competition that Alina is skating in????
OK - what's the purpose in that.

But Alina's fans are the "hyper-sensitive" ones - not the ones that can't let it go 9 months later.
This is internet "gaslighting" at its finest.

But I smile inside when I think of 2 members of American skating royalty whose opinions were very pro-Alina.

This. Every word of this.

Also don't forget Tara Lipinski.

And for everyone else with their passive-aggressive digs at Alina and her skating and whatever else - Stay mad!

This is what these people think of her anyway, so they don't give a flying wallenda what they say about her.

That is worded extemely poorly. It's sad that Zhenya is going through this crap to begin with but then Alina always gets dragged into the mess too by people who don't like Eteri. Maybe Alina can have someone start to manage her social media too so she doesn't have to deal with this!

The main difference between the situation of Alina and the situation of Zhenya - Alina is quietly humiliated and pricked by important and famous FS-people. This is not a social net. This is not an instagram comment from no-name (or famous 40-year-old manager, the father of two children ). This is a famous former champion and coach. This interview will be everywhere on the main sports sites and will be discussed by many people. It is impossible "manage" (unless you hide yourself alone in a room and turn off the Internet).

Actually I'm glad these people are making out their opinions about Alina. It makes it all the more satisfying to know that for every competitions this season she wins how much it will irk each and every single one of them. They can put out as much negativity against her but it will only make them look like a sore loser and Alina the gracious winner. From what I can see so far this season their negativity aint not working in fact she's even more better than this time last season

The translation reflects what was said. It did come across pretty badly - calling Alina whimsical/capricious, and with no knowledge to give unfounded opinions on the training regime. (I have no idea where this narrative came from - Zhenya got injured because of overtraining, they must have realised that and change the training regime for Alina so she stays relevant competitively and Eteri can get back at Zhenya. Seems like a lot of projections....
and if injuries is indication of overtraining/poor training regime, Eteri has got not the worst record in the business, so even if this sick logic applies, why Eteri receives the bashing, beats me)

This makes me very sad. I can only hope it will make her stronger and even more determined.

As much as people are currently railing against the anonymous critics on the internet making cruel comments about Evgenia at the very least she has the public and vocal support of all of the Russian Figure Skating elite. It would be nice if Alina could say the same, but apparently that is not the case.

I think this lack of support (perceived or otherwise) is the reason some of Alina's more rabid fans get angry when personalities in the media say - "we all wanted Zhenya to win." - with no consideration for Alina.

I'm not going to comment on anyone's social media account, but I understand the annoyance. It's like - please tell us one more time what we already know and didn't like hearing the first 1176 times everyone else said it like it was breaking news!

The translation reflects what was said.

Thank you egoshina. I know lots of things can get lost in translation, so I always appreciate you and the other Russian speakers in this thread helping out the rest of us.

:2thumbs: (for you, not for Besti)

THEY never attack Zhenya.

With “they“ I meant spiteful, stupid hater.s. I don’t differentiate between such people. Hater.s are hater.s. What the essential meaning of this comment was - and I think it was very clear - that those girls should just be left alone because they don‘t deserve ANY hate whatsoever, no matter where it comes from. Alina‘s case is particularly bad because she gets dragged into things she has nothing to do with. And I emphasized that I don‘t understand this at all.

I'm sad and little angry right now (about this interview, I mean). And I don't want to have those kind of feelings when I'm in this thread, usually full of sunshine.

So, here, some news to cheer up!
Due to "Zagitova effect" sales of akita-inu related goods have tripled!

Orlov is trying to explain you ,that there is a difference between the street-hat..rs and the hat..ers from your office.. From that unfamiliar people can easily hide, but not from people who are near you

Recently I've found group of people who were attacking Alina in style "she is the one to blame for Medvedeva's departure"... :palmf:

I don't think it is a competition in "who is hated more". Maybe it hurts on different spots but pain is still pain. But maybe there is one positive thing on all that. As Zhenya and Alina (and Eteri) are continuosly attacked either by anonymous internet folk or by A-Z list from encyclopaedia Who Is Who In Russian figure Skating, all of them could feel togetherness and they could be united against the common enemy...

I say if this is Alina taking it easy the competition is probably begging for them to never let her kick it into gear.

People's fantasy worlds are worthy of a JK Rowling book "Crazy Paranoic Beasts and where to find them". Only I don't want to find them, I wish they got no attention at all.

Maybe something like this?

He saw Harry and immediately began to eat Hermione's family
- this always gets me

I am really so angry reading this interview...Yes, sure, Alina's trainings are softer now, the girl who's training even during her holiday in the Dominican Republic; when she misses a jump she repeats it 1000 times; when she misses a 2 jump combo, the "lazy" Alina transforms her combo into a 3 jumps combo, so it will be easier for her during competition; she learned the most crazy difficult entries into her jumping passes, that's how lazy she is.

These are just people who don't receive enough attention, and what can they do beside speaking badly about their (now 16 years old) Olympic Champion. Speaks a lot about their character, and I hope Alina will not hear about what she said.

Or if she does, I hope she'll just thank her for her "warm and kind support", after winning the GPF gold.

Journalists also add pepper to their publications and headlines ,
today I saw an article on Lenta.ru with title — "Russian opera singer tore his mouth while performing" :slink:
What is your advice? Is it safe to open this link?
