2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Sachanovich is now 12th on the sb list with 202. 6th of the russian skaters. Im pretty sure she secured her spot on next years GP (of course we will hae to wait and see how rusfed resolves the situation with more than 9 in the top 24...). There are obviously still a few competitions left but i dont see her being bumped down to much.

I hope they invite her to nationals despite not having qualified. She was great this weekend!

Gubanova 180, Pannenkova 173.

WHAT?

If the things being rumored are true (of course we don‘t know whether they are but from what we‘ve seen recently it does seem like there are some problems with her coaching team at te moment), she should switch to anyone as long as she doesn‘t have to coach herself on her own there... But considering the work Plushenko (and his team) have done with Sima (until she left) and also Nastya this season, I think he deserves now to be a serious option when thinking about coaches.

But I think transfer time is over already so I guess she can only change next season?

I just don't know what to think because doesn't she have to stay in Sambo 70 until the window opens? and now she's left Eteri and Tsareva is supposedly ignoring her which leaves who? Bulycheva? I mean she's a kids coach but probably better to have a kids coach than no coach... right?

4Lz-3Lo is for the weak... Sasha will somehow pull a 4Lz-4T at Nationals, while she stabilizes her 4Lz-4Lo

huge step up for Sakhanovich, disappointing Gubanova (unfortunately all CSKA ladies failed so far this season), Panenkova about the same (compared to previous years it's a mess)

Yeah I'm sorry Nastyas new coaching situation is not panning out so far. But she's only been with her new coach 6 months or less and it's hard to give up on a 15 year old. In my opinion Nastya has had too many coaching changes early in her career. That is risky. So far this season maybe only Zagitova and Liza have skated well and Sofia too. maybe the rest of the Russian girls have been somewhat disappointing. They have to get better next season because Sasha Alena and Anna are coming.

Tbh I'm not yet ready to count anyone out, figure skating is so umpredictable, especially the russian ladies. I'll at least wait until after nationals to make a judgement

Sima is 14th not 12th. There is already 12 Russian ladies in SB top 24, 11 age eligible for senior next season, only Kanysheva #24 that not age eligible. Leonova might get kicked out as she's currently #23. Gubanova have another chance at Golden Spin next week, and Guliakova might sneak to top 24 too since she skated well so far this season. It is really crowded in seniors since many juniors become age eligible to compete in senior/trying to move up (7 skater). Also Sotskova is high up in WS so she still can get GP even though she's out of top 24 SB.

If anything, this season should show us NOT to count ANYONE out. True, Liza has a 3A but still, she struggled for years and now she‘s back and in the GPF. And Sima! A few years ago she fought to land an even relatively clean 2A and now look at her. Still not a skater who will win Olympics but she has improved SO much and still earned a SB which will probably enough for a GP event next year and a challenger gold as well! Don‘t count anyone out, guys.

That won’t change the fact that Sima is garunteed a spot if she is top 24. Unless the Fed heavily interferes I think we will see those not on top get one assignment.

Do you think she has enough money or they have to train her for free?

Plushenko gave grants of his talented students and he pays medical treatment sometimes. This happened with Sima, too. What do you think how could Sima train there?

According to Trankov and the famous football player( his daughter went back to Eteri because Plush is not strict with the little pupils) he is not much more expensive as the others only sincere.

I think the only reason why she left Turenko was hoping to see bigger scores in Russia to earn better spots, cause she was already doing great, arguagbly better than now.

Sakhanovich was strong here, Konstantinova missed the final for essentially one bad SP, Leonova did well at NHK and was underscored imo, Gulyakova was great at domestic competitions. if nothing changes at Nationals, i think Gulyakova and Sakhanovich deserve a good placement and some spot on next GP season.

I think this is very much a CSKA problem, where Buyanova right now has:

- Maria Sotskova (9th at NHK, 7th at GPF)
- Polina Tsurskaya (4th at ONT; 7th at SA; 8th at RC)
- Elena Radionova (injured, WD)
- Anastasiia Gubanova (4th at TT; GS TBD)
- Sergei Voronov (2nd at ONP; 3rd at SA; 2nd at NHK)
- Kirill Iakovlev (2nd at JGP Lit; 4th at JGP Cze)
- Artur Danielian (4th at JGP Arm; 5th at JGP Slo)
- Maxim Kovtun (-)

I don't know why she has such a large group, but it doesn't make too much sense when you have to deal with so many skaters who only joined your group few months ago, and on the other hand you have another coach (Davydov) who only has 2 skaters, and Goncharenko retired.

Im verry interested in how they will resolve GP spots for next season.
In the Top 24 SB:
Zagitova
Trusova
Tuktamysheva
Sherbakova
Medvedeva
Kostornaia
Sachanovich
Tarusina
Samodurova
Konstantinova
Leonova

In the top 24 WS but not top 24 SB:
Sotskova

Apart from this there are other skaters with a chance of getting on the top 24sb list if they do well in their upcoming competitions (Tarakanova, Gubanova, Guliakova).

This is 12 skaters (with potential for one or two more) guaranteed one spot (but if Iunderstand correctly skaters on these lists almost allways get 2spots) but there is only 18 spots for russian skters. If all of these get one then only 6can get 2. I dont see rusfed letting this happen. Have this situation occured before? That skaters guaranteed a spot didnt get one due to the contrys quota already being full?

Sakhanovich isn't qualified to nationals by her cup results, so she's not going unless she's added by coaches' council.

Tuktamysheva mentioned in an interview that it is going to be her last season. She wants to retire.
Sotskova may retire as well. She's studying a full-time at university.
