We had hoped that Keegan would get a redemptive free skate, but the skating gods sacrificed him so that Stephen could be the JGPF champion. :ohwell:

Who was the male commentator with PJ Kwong during the CBC.ca livestream?

Dylan Moscovitch. I think he worked well with PJ. I had to switch streams yesterday night because Liz was narrating every element.

:scratch2: Well, if I'm not mistaken, this would be first time that JGPF performances are aired on Canadian television.
They've aired some pieces before, I recall. Last year they had Kurt and Carol talking about Trusova's quad attempts, for instance.

While Keegan's free program had some rough patches, I was pleased he seemed more into the performance than yesterday. And looking at the protocols, he got the quad Lutz ratified, even if with negative GOE.

Thanks; for some reason I didn't recognize his voice. Liz's commentary drove me crazy. :gaah:

It wasn't the full performance, though, was it?

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with Keegan's performance. Yeah, it wasn't all there, and it sucks knowing that if he'd nailed the programs like he did at Nebelhorn/SCI, then he'd have been on the podium for sure. But I shrieked when he landed that 4Lz- I'm so glad he went for it, and got that at least as a personal accomplishment even if his end placement wasn't what it could have been. I feel like he put on a respectable show for the home crowd, and we were all going nuts for him regardless. I made a secret deal with the devil that if he would just let Keegan go to the final, then I wouldn't ask for anything more than just to see Keegan skate live. Well, I guess I owe the devil one soul.

As scary as that axel fall was, it actually fit with his program very nicely, plus I loved how he just laughed and kept going

Guess which 7th junior ice dance team got to skate their RD at JGPF...Miku and Tyler (at the opening ceremony) :yahoo::https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E62YINoKrB0

So happy that they got the opportunity to represent the local talent at both JGP Richmond and JGPF Vancouver this season and are getting that international exposure :).

Keegan's quad lutz was HUGE. While still a work in progress, it is his first time landing in comp. and not too shabby at that.

The GPF ice dance event seemed lacklustre to me and I believe that Weaver and Poje with their two fantastic programs this season could have won them a third GPF title. They looked fantastic on the tour. For those that haven't seen them, here are some nice fancams I found:

Looking forward to their return at Nationals. I believe they have a very good shot of finishing on the podium at Worlds :).

My friend sent me a magazine from Edmonton, Canada with the one and only Kaetlyn Osmond on the cover. (Avenue Magazine). Kaetyln is interviewed. Sadly despite an OGM inteam, OGM and world champion status she still has no new endorsements. She has a law firm and a pet food company sponsoring her. Nivea went with Tessa Virtue. She cut her hair so maybe that limits hair endorsements. Canada is about a tenth of the size of the US so the money is small anyways relatively. But pre olympics even without Osmond's credentials american singles skaters have far bigger and lucrative endorsements. Hopefully Kaetlyn will come back renewed and re invigorated but wow it will be tough next year with the Russians andJapanese getting stronger and c omebacks from Mirai and Ashley as well.

Lets see...., an OGT Gold, OGS Bronze, a World Ladies Championship, tours in Japan, Korea with Yuna and co., SOI, the TYCT tour, TV appearances and commercial endorsements including a national chain of restaurants and others, nomination for Canadian athlete of the year, dream moment skates in Nashville & New York, contracts for tours in Europe and again with SOI 2019. Not to mention good health, a great family & lifetime friends, a new romance and earned respect from fans & critics alike, ...yup, 2018 was a very good year.

Cheers!
