Dube had trouble with the side by sides at national to though. Didn't she have knee surgury earlier this year?

I have to say they have great speed (though not necessarily close to M/B or S/Z) and good flow. Their elements are very pretty and though they haven't developed enough 'strength' in their twists, their performance is brilliant. They connect. This year is even better than last year.
Yes, good luck to them!Hate this judges - they can have 56-57 (like Langua-Hey)Dube and Davison are not just 'pretty'I have to say they have great speed (though not necessarily close to M/B or S/Z) and good flow. And apparently so does the world. Or do we think all of the at the olympics held them up because they're 'pretty'? I think that's a ridiculous accusation. They have worked hard. They are not the most intricately choreographed pairs, but what they do, they do well.
As for Jessica, she has 'just' recovered from knee surgery that happened in September and they only really started training these programs in December. So I have to say they're doing GREAT dagnabbit.
Of course they would have been stronger if Jessica had landed her sbs jump. But she's been having a lot of troubles with the salchow lately. She lands her other triples fairly well (noted in her ladies short at Nats). Part of it may be confidence in that jump as well, as she's popped it during practises and at Nationals.
I'm proud of Dube and Davison just for even competing at 4CCs and the upcoming Worlds. They are strong competitors and I love to watch them skate. Once they feel comfortable with themselves and where they stand in the world, I think they will be even better. I would love to see them feel more when they skate, instead of having to think through the program.
But yay for D&D!![]()
For those who look for more details, Antoinette has a very good review of the event.

It looks like D/D only made one big mistake, still don't understand why their TEC score was so low. Maybe a lot of elements were graded level I/II?
See the Cats Lair report link above. What happened to Dubé & Davidson?
Well, according to this review, the sbs jump was a complete mess, so they did not get any credit for it whatsoever (well, they didn't get any credit for the revolutions). That would probably account for the low TES score.
John is much too hyper whether he perceives the scores as justified or not. He needs some old fashion valium before he goes into theK&C. And she is so lovely both physically and skatewise. How lucky for John to get her.Joe

Castile and Okolski had the skate of their life at U.S. Nationals, 20 points above their previous best, IIRC. Even with that they beat Inoue and Baldwin only because of two falls by I&B. So I am not surprised they they are only third among the American teams, also behind Nam and Lefteris.
In fact, in the SP at U.S. Nationals it was I&B, N&L, the Castile and Okolski, just like here.
No real surprises so far, IMO.
are they number one overall? over shen and Zhao? I thought that Pang and Tong would not skate well, they have been out all season, and have not heard any news. they said they are retireing after worlds so.... i thought they performance would be half hearted.
