2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

I can’t help but feel like Shabotova was a little lowballed on the PCS, or is it just me?

Anyway, Maya, Dasha and Anna all did very good! Hopefully they all get JGP spots!

I've noticed this since a certain late January event. She is a lovely light controlled skater. It will be sad if she is being punished vicariously for what was either a little mistake or an entrapment, the latter imo, but certainly nothing devious on her part.

Yes, super results for those three. Particularly Darya after a disappointing couple of outings.
Sad about Nastya K today.

I think if she works on her speed and ice coverage her PCS will improve. She seems to skate smaller than some of her competitors

Nastya K was heartbreaking. She had an amazing chance for 2nd place but after the stumble on her eu-3S combo in the bonus she fell apart. I still hope we may see her on the jgp...

I haven't watched the livestream practice (ladies FS on Channel One reminds me of reality TV lately...) but I read Stasya fell on all her triples in her runthru and had a terrible practice. At this rate I have my doubts she will be sent even if Rusfed likes her and she wins clearly :/

If only Anna Tarusina didn't have such a deep flutz... She is great and consistent as always. But with the low jumps + a flutz you really can't overlook her scoring potential is heavily limited...

AFAIK, nothing was ever mentioned by TV commentators over Shabotova slip of the tongue, so probably no serious official repercussions.

With Tutberidze's Three Awesome Aces advancing into the senior ranks next season, will they no longer be eligible for JGP assignments but have to compete for Snr GP assignments?

Noticed that Maya Khromikh was the only junior skater in Edea Ice Fly and those high tech blades. Her top quality skates served her well this competition.

So far to me it looks like no matter how anyone skates, they're still making it be a competition only between Zhenya, Liza and Stasya. Also, damn it Stasya why can't you pull yourself together like this outside of Russia. I enjoyed this so much.

Yup, agreed. I think that if all three skate clean tomorrow, it should still definitely be Liza the one to go to worlds. Considering her record of performances this season, she's earned it (ugh why pneumonia!!?). Hoping that Zhenya can pull off a marvelous skate tomorrow as well, and Stasya as well!

Apart from Zhenya, because I'm totally biased on that front, Gubanova was my favourite. I would've given her 2 more PCS compared to how the rest skated. She's absolutely lovely and my favourite program of the day for sure.

Liza can still win this with a clean free skate.

I'm still not okay with how they handled all of that, putting so much pressure on her after an injury, but here we are.

I thought she was really good here, she fixed all the issues she struggled earlier this season, and components should have been closer to Konstantinova.
