I'm not sure RusFed will drag it out so long. They want the athletes to be prepared rather than angsting over whether or not they will get the spot, I would think.

Liza said that it was her last saison. If Rusfed send both Liza and Zhenia at worlds maybe Liza as an alternate and at world team trophy as a regular.

It was only this month that she said she will compete next season.

The difficulty lies in having to choose between med and tukta. I would send both. Easily. Alina is the one on the decline. Objectively, I can’t count on her present state of conditioning. Since she wasn’t here, I have no reason to say her conditioning has changed. I will let her stay home. Problem solved.

Because she was off during one competition ? Zhenia was off more than one competition and maybe got the spot.

Med was overscored.

Rus Fed should have had both Tuk and Med at Universiade

Too many ladies for three spots for everyone. Everyone gets 1 except host countries or ones that medaled last time.

That‘s what I wondered too. Didn‘t they have 3 spots in 2017, or am I mixing something up here? But Japan also only has 2 spots... maybe there are more countries that can send ladies than in the other disciplines so it‘s a maximum of 2 skaters per country? That‘s the only explanation I would have.

I thought so too at first but Zhenya has shows both in Canada and Japan and WTT is right between them, so I don‘t know how she would prepare for that.

You could say the same for Med.

I don't think either Tukt or Med have a great shot at winning Worlds this year, so it's more about who can lock up 3 spots.
