I don't think Danielian can go the Jason route in Russia, unfortunately. And I just checked the ISU SB list and Artur has the highest total score of the juniors who are not aging out! Congrats to him on his SB

Sure, but can he also bring back his 2nd triple lutz? Why would you repeat a toe, your second to worse jump, versus one of your money jumps?

Well he only had 2 toeloops, on the 3A and the 3Lo (meant to be 3Lz+3T I think) so there’s no other way for him to have another combination without 2 toeloops. Although it was looking good.
He could put another 3Lz instead of 3Lo though
And did I mention he didn’t get any flip edge calls?

Molodets Artur, he was definitely one of the highlights of the evening, if not THE, while Petr and Camden really let me down. I couldn't understand why he looked so sad after the program, I guess he was thinking about the opening 4S and he had wanted to hit very badly - but he is only 15, younger than most of the boys there. He has the rare gift of sparkle when he skates, I am sure his time will come in the near future!

Perhaps it's partially due to his non-typically-Russian look, I kept getting the impression of watching a mini-Javi today :luv17:

I think because he is a perfectionist judging by his interviews. I don't think we should look too much into it. He was like that even as a small child if you go back and watch those videos.

And Artur is Armenian which probably contributes to the non-Russian look because he isn't ethnically Russian. Both his parents are Armenian and he still have lots of relative that live there.

I can see why Artur is obsessed with quads. Unfortunately his Fed is too so it’s clear he feels pressure to join the quad club. And international judging seems to follow that direction as well – quad skaters were a bit gifted with PCS in the short and in the long program as well.

Perfectionist plus Artur is very self-critical. One of the reasons I like him so much: his skating is bigger than his ego. :luv17: There also might be another reason why he looks quite often unsatisfied or strenuous in the K&C – I think he simply has difficulties to see his marks?

I think Artur is mentally fully ready to do quads. There is no hesitation at all when he enters it. The problem is the physical side. It’s also displayed by the fact that he wants to add more quads, when he even hasn’t landed the first one cleanly. And I too very much hope he’ll focus on the Lutz.

Thank you for the link. I’m so happy for Artur that he can finish this difficult season on a high note. With Artur being usually so very serious it’s great to see him smile. :yay: Maybe his coaching team cheered him up after he left the K&C? By the way though the quad probably cost him a medal here, I think here it was the right decision to go for it. After the short Artur had nothing to lose. And I see it also positive that he didn’t not medal – thus he can stay in juniors and he won’t be so much on the radar of (quad demanding) fed officials.

It's not improved. You can see the "e" in the replay https://youtu.be/-Pdp9pqc4yM?t=250. He takes off from an outside edge. This is the way his take off edge has always looked. No point in pretending otherwise. It's an "e".

And just because it's not called, doesn't mean it isn't there or that it's improved. He should consider himself lucky if it isn't called. There were a lot of skaters not being called on their incorrect edge here, not just Artur.

Artur admited to the edge and so has Buyanova. It's there and it takes YEARS to fix. I see no point in investing that much time in something that only gives you 3 points and only if you manage to fix it and I don't know of skater who has managed to fix their edge issue. He can easily drop it when he can stabilize his quad(s). Until then, he can just deal with the inconsistent calls.
