And he left, it's 11:30 PM already. I hope he can sleep well tonight, but seeing him kuyashii, I doubt it

Yuzu I only wish and pray the best for you.
With that, we are going to trust you on whatever decision you make.

I admire his being able to do a great Worlds FS and win the Silver even through his ankle pain. Today's FS was powerful to watch! :clapper:

"I want to do 4A, 4Lz, and 4F"
Oh jeez, there goes my sanity
Think of poor Brian. :drama:

Proud of Yuzuru for fighting to earn Japan’s only medal at this home worlds under tremendous pressure despite not being fully healed.

Did anyone notice that Yuzu was asking for Shoma after medal ceremony while he had the Japan flag in his hand? He is such an onisaan
Yuzu lonely without Shoma to share a flag:

Can I say "Where is home cooking?" again? What is 95 PCS?

I am not complaining about the placement btw, he rightfully deserved silver medal. But I was just disappointed at the score.

Same here. This is the case where his long break really hurt his PCS - I bet judges just look at his last early season competition's PCS (which was underscored too) and add on a bit from that. I was hoping the whole "tie PCS to TES" thing would stay in ladies only, but now its also made its way to men too, which is *sigh*

I am proud of his stellar skate today considering Origin was a new program he only skated the full layout for the third time (RoC was watered down version) - I think this was what we were meant to see at RoC had he not been injured, which also made me sad as to what more it could have been at Worlds if he had the chance to refine it further for another 2-3 competitions.

I just hope Hanyu has an injury free next season and that he takes it easy on his ankles.

BTW does it count as having break a world record if you achieved it first even if it was broken on the same day? if so he has broke world record 6 times this year - quite a tally

He has had a red face all week, i think.
I love that oopsie. That is hilarious... I"m not sure if Yuzu was laughing because Brian forgot Jason, or if he was surprised at Brian swearing, lol!!

Sigh. Over the moon for Hanyu's LP but gutted over the result.

It's the beginning of a new era. Hanyu will need to add new jumps and up his BV to win major titles moving forwards.

This has been the most disappointing Worlds for me.

Aside from S/H win, it was definitely a disappointing Worlds, but Yuzu still managed to be stellar. The judging was definitely fishy and wrong but he managed to fight through and do much better than expected (especially since the Loop kept not going right during practice)!
I know he’s Kuyashii, but he can be proud of himself, seriously. Plus, he once again became the first skater to break the 200 and 300 barrier under the new rules.
You’re the best, Yuzu, thank you! Forever the GOAT! :cheer:

I knew it would be a long shot for Yuzu to win being 12 points behind after the SP. Nathan would have to implode, which I couldn't see happening. So I'm not at all surprised by the result. Though boring, Nathan was the best of the night and deserved his win.

Yuzu earned his silver with sure will and passion. Though not a fan of Origin, I was ecstatic that he skated clean, and that 4T/3A SEQ was incredible. He never ceases to amaze. :) Congratulations on his silver! How many world medals is that now? 6? Impressive.

I don't know how long he plans to continue competing, and I know he has absolutely nothing to prove, but I would like to see him win at least one more world title. It's a shame that with his talent he only has two world titles. He really should have more, but injury and circumstance has often been the culprit in derailing what should have been a worlds win.

Maybe he’ll win more world titles (as he plans on continuing next season, as we know), but no matter what happens next, he made his mark. Yuna Kim is the referenced Queen and she won World “only” twice. ;)

Yeah. He didn't win the biggest competition of the season but he already won the biggest of his life just a year ago, so it's OK. He could have hung it up then but is still hungry to compete and that's wonderful. Clearly the sport still needs him. I'd like him to win at least another worlds too and certainly welcome that chance next year as I'll try to be in Montreal, but no matter how many he wins, 2x Olympic Champ is always what he'll be called first and that to him seems to mean more (well, unless he plans to stick around until Beijing and manages to win there, but he seems non-committal to me on that one). Aljona Savchenko won 5 worlds (at the time) but when asked how she felt to be Olympic champ, in tears she said "it's everything." Yuzu has had a dream career and still has it good, let's not forget that.

I keep thinking that he made other skaters want to do their best to be able for them to beat him but it still hurts...I don’t usually feel hurt even if he got silver before but today is exceptional. I barely see him this season and him winning a gold medal will probably make up for that....
