Shen and Zhou should go pro. They do not belong in this amateur contest.
Because they are too good. Amateur skating should be reserved for amateurs. Why?
I don't understand the perspective that Savchenko/Szolkowy is somehow the judges' pet. They have difficult, interesting programs both technically and artistically, and even if they don't have a really romantic connection I don't think they're mechanical at all. Their win at Euros was well-deserved, and their LP there was absolutely perfect. Besides that competition, I can't think of any place where they actually had a really high score, anyways.
wow, Pet & T. That's painful to watch. I found judges just hate them. When the other top teams had a bad performance, they would have generally been held up a bit. But no benefit of doubt to this team. Each time when they had a bad performance, judges shoved them down to the bottom.
I really feel bad for them since I like their personality.
no technical content.

says who?
dare I say Kristi Yamaguchi and Brian Boitano have been forgotten...
or Kurt Browning -though lately yes he has 'downgraded' but he's a dad and that's set his priorities differently (as it should)
a lot of skaters keep up their difficulty... but thank god they don't just jump and throw... they actually have real programs to skate to!![]()
I saw the Germans and Pang/Tong and I agreed with the Germans being in front. The only tech. element I though they were clearly weaker on was the twist, most were similar, but the Germans throw was harder and their side by side spins much better. As for the PCS I liked both but the Germans had more speed and personality.
Well, their PCS was pretty high. Only the top 3 teams have higher PCS.
I don't necessarily think that they got incredibly low marks for a sloppy performance; rather, the field as a whole just skated too well to have them high up. Just wasn't their night![]()
S/S' sbs was faster, but out of syn several times, it was obvious even with out replay. just because they spinned fast doesn't mean it was better IMO. P/T had better spiral and better landing on the throw. I also think that P/T's program in general is better choreographed and executed so the PCS should have been higher. That was one of the best performance of SP.
Well I will watch the performances again later on, but at first glance I did not notice all the things you are saying. I did not feel the Germans side by side spins were at all out of sync the first time around, and I thought their throw landing was completely secure. I liked the choreography of both programs alot and similarly to each other.
. CBC didn't have replay for the spin but I'm pretty sure they were out of sync several times. I was talking to myself hey, if you can keep in sync spin faster would be a good choice. P/T were out of sync in very short moment too but it was almost not noticeable without replay but CBC had replay and the commentator didn't notice it until the replay. For the record, Inoue and Baldwin got all Lvel 4's for their elements....which is why their score is stilll high despite the fall
True. But that's not the only reason. They also outscored Dube and Davison on every one of the 5 component scores.
I can't understand why so many people are so angry with I/B beating D/D with a fall, when the judges thought that I/B's total package was better than D/D's in so many ways.
D/D are very good skaters. But the judges' decision seems totally justified.
