I am thrilled for Miki!! Fairy tale endings do happen from time to time!! 
And I adored that gorgeous wine burgandy on her. Really looked so good on her.
Congratulations to Mao and Yu-Na!! What an exciting final flight that was.
Way to go Joannie for coming back and getting in the top ten!!
Mira...Dead last. Wonder who will get blamed this time? If nothing else, maybe this will be the wake up call to her it's time to check the attitude and work on your weaknesses. I doubt it though.
What a wonderful season this was. Can't wait to do it all again in October.

Standing Ovation to Rosaleen for all her hard work for us this week!! You deserve your own gold medal for all you've done.
Oh and I wanted to ask you...Were there any members of the Japanese Imperial Family attending tonight's Ladies Free? W/the possiblity of a Japanese sweep, it was the one night I thought at least one member might be there.

wow, what a competition! In today's Ladies, good is not enough. Great is not enough. You need brilliant in both SP and LP to win.

I sudenly realized how similar Kimmie and Miki Ando are, both hard worker and neither are that musical nor flexible. Miki's skating is especially laboured-looking. Still they have the nerve and guts to get everything down. What does it take to get to that status? I think jumps give them the confidence. They have the most important hardware to build with. I must give credit to their coachs and choreographers for doing a great job. Is Miki's coach the same one as Arakawa's ? He just gets this golden touch! Mozonov? I'm terrible with names.
Too bad Mao made a mistake in the SP. I was thinking this would be a battle between Mao and Yu-na. And Yu-na was so brilliant in the SP. Didn't get to see her LP, wonder what happened. Go back to check Rosaleen's report

Yup, he also choreographed Pang & Tong's short program. It's the best program that P&T has skated to. I heard that Pang & Tong will train with him for a while after this worlds. So hopefully next season, we will have another stunning world champions in pairs. I believe Pang & Tong are now ready for a decisive victory next year with renewed confidence and brand-new program.

woow, protocols are up, one judge gave Asada +3 on her 3A...:scratch: actually the same judge gave positive GOE on all her elements except for the first combo.. and two 8,75.. I mean she skated great, but that great? 
Miki's stroking's a bit laboured, but her jumps have always been terrific. I think Morozov really helped her to express herself better in her skating.
Kimmie's jumping has never been quite as good, nor does she really have the passion that Miki has now.

The same judge was also the most generous on GOE's and PCS for Miki and Yu-Na but was pretty harsh on Meissner.

Yes!! So too bad she skated where she did in the short program as she certainly didn't get a break in her marks. If she had had the chance to skate in a later group tonight, she would have gotten much higher second marks and together with her wonderful technical marks could have finished even three or four spots higher. But still, terrific job to do as well as she did. I hope she is very proud of how she performed tonight.
Is that where she ended up? Wow. Doesn't say much for Joann's coaching, does it, that her two students, Mira and Emanuel are so screwed up and not competition ready. Although maybe they both are just wingnuts and nobody would be able to do anything with them.

We need a better group of competitors. Maybe that Wagner girl & Flatt can compete next year. I am ready to give Emily & Alissa their papers.:agree:
I do like the podium, no problem with the order but would wish a different one if everybody skated to their potential. Miki deserves it although she can never warm me up to her skating. It is not a surprise for me that Kimmie is off podium. I don't like Miki and Kimmie's skating but I really admire their working ethic to keep improving. Good for them.
I agree. The best 3 female skaters in the world right now are on the podium. They're deserving of that. Too bad Carolina faltered. She should be classed as one of the best as well.
I'm so thrilled for Joannie. 5th best free skate out of a lot of very talented young ladies. Well done! Earlier she had mentioned in training (they showed it on CBC) that she felt that she didn't need the triple-triple combination if her spins and choreography earned her more marks. I think the whole female skating world has now been sent a wake-up call - you need a triple-triple - or more than one 3-3 combo - if you want to be on the podium because the best in the world now have the technical AND the choreography. Skate Canada better start pushing their young female skaters harder to raise the bar, or else Canada will be left in the dust.
P.S. Thank you SOOOOO MUCH Rosaleen, for all of your hard work and dedication in getting us the results. You're amazing! :agree:
I"m disappointed for my girl Yu-na. She did have it in her finger tips.. BUT..
The girl was coming of injuries, and I think that it was also too much pressure for her, at her first world championships. Maybe if she had been third giong into the free, things would have been different.

She does not have the stamina to do a clean long program.

wow congrats to miki, mao and yu na. i think they all deserve to be up there in the podium. personally, i was also hoping for yu na to keep up her rankings, but im still happy that she came in 3rd! she has a bright future to come, and she had other injury issues so considering those facts, i think she did an awesome job. this doesnt mean that im not happy for the other skaters. i think miki totally deserved to win, and feel that she did a wonderful job!
Fighting injuries all season long/and in the off season CAN hurt your stamina. I remember reading an interview where Yu-na said she wasn't able to prepare like she normally would this summer because she was dealing with her knee injury etc.. She normally does heavy off ice training to build up her stamina.
But at the GPF, the Us commentators were actually commenting on how well trained Yu-na looked. They said she didn't tire whatsover, and apparently Yu-na did hit a 3/2/2 at the end of her program there.
But I'm sure having to limit her ice time due to a back injury, did hurt Yu-na's preperation for this worlds. It's way to early to say that Yu-na has a stamina problem. It could be just an injury. problem. And I also think nerves.
I doubt it too. I think you'll see her leave Joanne Mcleod again. She definitley needs an attitude adjustment. She needs to take a lesson from Jennifer Robinson. When she finished in the bottom of the pack, she didn't blame the judges and she didn't blame her coaches. She realized what she needed to do to improve and she worked her *ss off to do it. She recognized the value in self-reflection. Mira's problem is that she thinks she's better than she is. She's got a lot of work to do - stronger jumps, better stroking technique (no "bobbing"), and a new stylist who will get rid of those bangs! The question is, will she listen to anyone? Perhaps she should go and work with Doug Leigh, who helped Jen Robinson improve so much - or maybe she should go and train in the States where the standard of skating is much higher than where she has been training. Brian Orser seems to have done great things with Yu-Na, although I wouldn't wish Mira on Brian! He's too nice to deal with a strong-headed student!
