Team envelopes ?

The U.S. team envelopes are usually announced after the USFS' Governing Council meeting (May 3-5 this year). I've already compiled a *projected/unofficial* list of A-C envelopes based on the published criteria and can post them if there's interest.

Sure, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is interested.

Thanks

I didn't think Flatt, Khale and Julianna wold be in Team C. I don't think they will get any GP events down that low.

Am I allowed to let out a big WEEEEEEEEE that Amanda & Mark should be on Team B now?!?!

Yes, you're allowed, Heather... but just remember that none of this is "official" yet. ;)

They all meet one or more of the published criteria for Team C. But Nationals placements/team envelope levels don't necessarily determine who will be on the Senior Grand Prix.

Flatt will likely be on the JGP, and perhaps Cannarozzo may be as well once again. Kahle has one more year of ISU junior eligibility (she turns 18 in April), but has already done one Senior 'B' (last fall) and could have a shot at Skate America if USFS chooses to invite her as the 3rd U.S. lady.

How much $ do they get? I mean how do they actually make money off of skating? What if they don't win anything that season? Do skaters in the same bracket all get the same amount or does the USFSA have their faves? Do ladies get more?

Last year Matt Savoie was in Team A and he finished 3rd at nationals. Why isn't Ryan Bradley, who was second at nationals, in Team A envelope this year when Johnny who's third is? Just curious.

The relevant criterion would seem to be Placement in top 12, [2006] World Figure Skating Championships

Johnny qualifies because he placed in the top 12 at Worlds. Ryan doesn't meet any of the automatic criteria (gold Nats, or gold 4CCs, or top 12 Worlds). I can't remember just now how Matt qualified from 3rd at Nats, but I'm sure there's a reason.

And as Sylvia noted, these are predictions rather than official.

BTW Sylvia ... thanks for doing the homework!

Susan
