2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

How many are invited to test skates? It's probable that these would be invited: Kanysheva, Valieva, Usacheva, Kromykh, Tarakanova, Vasilieva, Sinitsina, Tarusina (if she doesn't go senior). I would think someone from the Mishin school would be invited, so Kadyrova seems to have a great chance.

Is Kadryova with Mishin again? I knew she was with him before briefly going to Eteri, but I didn't think she was with him now?

anyways, I just rewatched her Children of Asia fs, and she's got a lot of potential. I hope they consider that performance and at least invite her to test skates.

I could be mistaken, but I saw something within the past year where she was with Mishin. So she's now with Eteri? Which is funny because when I saw her programs from earlier this year I was thinking she just needs the "Eteri Touch". I hope she's with Eteri!

She's not with Eteri anymore. After she left Mishin, she went to Eteri (last offseason). Then she got injured, and left Eteri, apparently around January. I just saw something that said she is now coached by her mom back in her hometown.

I don't think she's with Eteri anymore. She was last summer. I remember hearing that she wasn't there anymore.

ETA, as already posted.

She left the group last summer due to injury and hopes to come back (she told me via Instagram) her jumps are very big and she has amazing spins, and she has posted a couple of videos of her landing a quad sal (4S<< and the most recent one 4S<+3T step out) I hope she gets invited to test skates

I wonder if Eteri will take her back because she has a quad.

I believe there is no strictly set number of people that are invited to junior test skates. The number varies from year to year and between the disciplines as well. I am waiting for RusFed to publish the list of skaters on national teams for next season (senior, junior, novice, reserve), that would be a pretty good indicator of who will likely be invited to test skates.

Yeah i was thinking senior skaters from that era, but liza was still in juniors (we'll actually she was doing senior GP also), but it's not that different with Gracie and Satoko, they always had their 2 3-3 combos and that's it.

IIRC tsl had an on the road video in 2015 when they visited Gracie and Gracie also practices 3T-3T-2T and 3S-3T when they were there so i think she practiced other combos just never really brought them out in competition. There was also a video circling of her doing 2A-1eu-3s

If we look back at RusNats a couple of years ago there are a few names that we didn't see this season

Valeria Mikhailova
Sofia Istomina
Lidia Yakoleva
Alisa Fedichkina

Any news on them? ...or are they done?

It looks to me like Fedichkina may retire sadly. I was looking at her performances from a few years ago and I actually really like her. Her performance ability is natural, and her skating skills are quite nice. She hasn't competed at all this season after all.

I was hoping Fedichkina and Mikhailova took off the year to compete for another country? Too bad, they were very talented.

National Team was announced
https://twitter.com/MedvedevaNation/status/1138431667713036290?s=20

Zagitova
Medvedeva
Kostornaia
Samodurova
Trusova
Tuktamysheva
Shcherbakova

Reserve
- Gubanova
- Konstantinova

So I guess this means Gubanova and Konstantinova are more likely to get senior GP spots than Sakhanovich and Tarusina.

+ in juniors: only Valieva (from team Tutberidze) was included in the junior team, Khromykh and Usacheva didn't make it.

juniors are
Valieva
Tarusina (I predicted she'll stay in juniors)
Vasilyeva
Kanysheva
Sinitsyna
Tarakanova

Substitutes: Frolova (coached by Panova)
