Aggie went down earlier this morning....it was very peaceful. Our old girl is young and playing again on the other side.

(((((((((((Patch))))))))))))

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm glad Aggie had a peaceful passing and isn't suffering. It's never easy to lose a pet, and I'm sure you have lots of treasured memories of her.

So sorry to hear but as you say.....romping and playing and healthy now.

Dee

My heart goes out to you, NJ.......so sorry to hear about your precious Aggie.....42

I'm so sorry for your loss! I know how much Aggie means to you, and I can remember back to some funny little stories you shared over the years... I hope and pray you will also be able to return to those memories to help you through this time!

I'm so sorry for you, Patch. I still miss my cocker spaniel who I had to put to sleep several years ago even tho I have another wonderful pet now. It is always darkest before the dawn, remember?

I'm so very sorry... You know you did the right thing. She was blessed to be a part of your loving family.

Thank you every one.....I just took a walk on our property and I could hear her barking at the snakes and turtles and rabbits and the splashing of the water in the creek as we threw pebbles in it to tease her. Her spirit is everywhere around me.
I should've included this in my original post, but if anyone is interested, here is Aggie's life in pictures (well, these are just a few of the probably thousands of pictures we have of her ;) )

I'm glad she went peacefully--like the others said, I hope the years of memories will help you through this time.

Aggie was adorable, I'm glad she went peacefully. We had to put down our 19-year-old cat a couple months ago, it's really hard losing a pet.

Awww, I remember Aggie, back in the skating inc. days. She was a cute ole dog. ((((((Big hug scrunches for Patch)))))

Patch I am so very sorry. I hope she's up there getting to know my Puss Puss.

((((HUGS))))

Cheesy as this sounds--I never believed, truly believed, in heaven--until I adopted a dog, and then another.

There's a place after this life for deserving creatures, like them. No matter how bad we humans may be.

a week ago today we had to put our cat ozzy to sleep. i'm so glad he is not suffering anymore, he was such a good boy, but i've been so sad. he was just LOVE. i'm so glad i read this thread about aggie and everyone's thoughts...it's comforting. thanks...

Ranjake, and anyone else who has lost a pet recently or long ago....It's hard isn't it? (((Ranjake))) for your recent loss.

Those people out there that spew "it's just a dog/cat/bird" to you, I could strangle them.

We are somehow managing to cope and move on...I've created a memorial slide show and a little shrine here at home. We're having Aggie cremated and will keep her ashes in a little dog house urn.

It helps that we have Philly the cat and Nellie the outdoor dog to still care for. But what a hole Aggie's absence is leaving.

thank you so much njsk8fan...really. it's good to know we're not alone. and i do know that the world goes on and there are far greater tragedies every day. but it is comforting to just read this thread...thanks. the hardest thing is, ozzy was a big orange tom...and look-a-like's of him are used in lots of advertisements...it's been a little difficult to see. we do have three other cats and a dog...and it's also hard because they all loved ozzy too, and are looking at us like "where is he?"

I have had more support from my internet friends than from my own family on this issue! I belong to a cat forum and a jack russell terrier forum. The outpour of support from the JRT forum was overwhelming and such a GREAT comfort!

I'm glad to be supportive of other pet owners whenever I can! Just like our pets, pet owners/lovers are a special breed!
