2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Is the Levy woman thrilled with Alina skating to her music or not? The reigning defending undisputed world champion and Olympic champion is skating to her music so I hope she's thrilled!

She is! Very kind of her :)
So is Japanese PM as he posted his meeting with Alina on his official Instagram and on his Twitter. :)
A major success for Russian ladies and Russian figure skating in general, being recognized on a highest level in another country.

If i remember correctly this isn't Alina's fan fest.

@Fluture I'm gonna :palmf: with you too.

Russian figure skater SBS with japanese PM (for the second time) is a big achievement for the world of russian ladies figure skating as a whole, I think. As well as when russian figure skater is praised for a music choice (and performance to that music choice) by the composer and singer herself. It's a nice thing. After all, when somebody else's favourite russian lady skater will be invited by japanese PM, I have no doubt there will be some positive comment about such event here too.

Okay. but I thought I read somewhere that she was critical of the choreography in Alinas short program to her music.

Anyway Alina keeps upping her profile internationally. I like how she's grown into this role and is comfortable with it as well even as shy as she is.

No it is not, but a Russian skater meeting Japanese prime minister is a big news much bigger than some other ones discussed here and in other "national threads".

I cannot speak for Vandevska, obviously but I was not: :palmf: at the fact that someone made a positive comment about Alina‘s meeting with the prime minister. That‘s cool, great for her and Russian figure skating. She can and should be really proud. It was some other comments (or rather, jokes) I thought weren‘t necessary or appropriate here. I will not discuss this further. It‘s just another reason to bicker and for people to take sides when there aren‘t any and I don‘t want that.

Let‘s talk about something else: Usacheva will debut on the JGP soon. Any news on her programs? Or Kanysheva‘s for that matter since she will start at the first JGP too?

I am not sure if we obtain any info before junior test skates. Don't worry - they will start next week already and will be open to media.

Wow, next week already! I thought it was much longer. Time flies. I‘m excited already. Cannot wait to see the programs of Kanysheva, Valieva and co.

I agree! And Alina looks like a princess in that simple, black dress, classy and stylish. I always felt Alina is happier during her visits to Japan.

She really does! It looks like something Audrey Hepburn could wear. Just timeless and classic. And Alina pulls it off beautifully.

My :palmf: was same as Fluture's, not related to the FF comment.

Tarasova's comment about Alina's meeting with PM of Japan is beyond weird.
'...it's all good, we're happy when she's invited wherever, as long as it's not a jail"...
huh? Was she trying to make a joke, or did the interviewer paraphrase her words or wrote them down incorrectly? :scratch2:
Hope she was just trying to be witty, because written down it doesn't sound very funny.

Bizarre...

There are long time tentions between Japan and Russia over some territory and TAT is too close to politicals in Russia.

Yes, she was; guess marasmus senilis is catching up rather fast with this one.

Whattttttttttttt? I don't think Tarasova can be witty. I hope she was just being silly about mentioning the reigning defending and undisputed world and Olympic champion and jail in the same sentence.

Alina has become a real leader in addition to becoming a great figure skater. That leaders of countries want to meet her is quite impressive. Masaru had her 15 minutes of fame but Alina has taken back over big time! ;)

Remind me, are Junior test skates gonna be televised too?
