Funny show with the 4A. And they won the fun competition they took part in too - speed skating against running. And I can‘t help but point out how Aliona flies across the ice, she was able to generate speed so easily and clearly won her duel. :)

This remembers me of a sadly deleted YouTube fragment of CBC’s JGPF gala broadcast of Dos Cadencias EX with Alyona in all black where the commentators were each asked to described Alyona’s skating in one word: they choose ‘musicality’ and ‘flow’. The pro commentators were amazed at how easily Alyona gains speed and keeps her momentum in almost every element.

Her snr GP debut is the one I look most forward too, for Alyona embodies the perfect pairing of ‘classical’ and ‘modern’ figure skating i.e. grace and power.

I'm really curious about Trusova's GoT program. It's about Daenerys, but will they incorporate elements from the last season? I'm a book fan, so the decisions D&D took really frustrated me. I think her winter coat could become a good dress, especially if they get rid of the fur.

Targaryen red and black could also work, and I think Sasha looks amazing in darker colours. Oh, and I just remembered what I consider Daenerys' conqueror dress. I think it's my favourite and would make a fantastic costume.

Well, Zhenya does not have a lutz and never has. It's just a more than necessary difficult entry to a 3flip. So she kind of needs a quad because she can only repeat 3flip once since she has no 3lutz. Upping her flip combo to a -loop should help her base value though.

I‘m aware she doesn‘t have a lutz. But how many ladies have been prevented from including one in their SP by the fact that they lack a real lutz? Zhenya was one of the few to only use 1 in two programs. I‘m not saying she would necessarily add one to her SP because it didn‘t work out too well last season but it wouldn‘t be a tragedy if she did.

The thing about upping her flip combo to a loop combo is difficult, though. What could she possibly do? 3S+3Lo and 3F? About the same BV as 3F+3T and 3Lo but more risky. 3Lo+3Lo is dangerous on the hips. Her 3F has been wonky, I‘m not sure she could do a 3F+3Lo so soon even if she gets it to be more stable this season. Besides, she would then need the 3Lz as a solo jump again. So, there‘s really no other option to upgrade the SP, all of them are risky. Quad in the FS would be an option to increase the technical difficulty but then again, last season she was talking specifically about the SP and that she “won‘t jump 3F+3T forever“. That‘s why my question was: What would she do instead?

About Trusova’s GoT program: we don’t know the exact music cut yet, do we?

Music related to certain key scenes with the Danaerys character and the outfits she wore?

My guess Aleksandra's costume will be a generic mix of regal Danaerys, enough for a recognizable portrayal that doesn’t raise controversy.

High Valyrian lyrics over the music track? Nobody can take offense since it is a fictional language ;-)

Interesting would be if Aleksandra does a female portrayal or tomboyish one that suits her powerful, sometimes even masculine skating, i.e. Danaerys Stormborn, taming dragons etc. I thought of show Danaerys always as a very female character. Arya Stark is the obvious tomboy in GoT.

Given that Trusova is probably -the- one performer the whole world of FS is waiting for, perhaps even fearing, in her senior debut, Khrustalniy will hopefully make it unforgettable.

And will Aleksandra keep Unstoppable as her EX in the first few gala concerts?
At 15, Aleksandra is still in the prime of her youthful adolescence.

I got quite curious about the speed of the 4A and timed them for the race (this was the last race with the four of them, I ignored the first two duet races):

Sasha: 13s (42:38-42:51)
Alina: 15s (42:51-43:06)
Anna: 13s (43:06-43:19)
Alyona: 13s (43:20-43:33)

Of course it doesn't mean much because they weren't skating their real programs, and because this was filmed in the middle of the off-season, but to me it was surprising (and quite cute) that the 3A girls all had the same time. I also originally thought Alyona was the fastest by far because of how quickly she overtook the runner, but then I timed everyone and realised she looked a lot faster because of her flow (and the fact that she was up against the slowest runner).

We know she will use the pieces Pray and the Night King, but we don't know how the pieces will be cut.

I can't wait for the season to start, I've had enough off season alreadyyy. Can't we just fast forward? [emoji14]

Yes please! I'm generally not excited about summer ending, but this year is an exception. I can't recall any other season that was looking so competitive. At least now it seems that 19/20 season will be a constant bloodbath.

No bloodshed please :)

And excitment not alone in senior women, junior women (girls) is going to be very exciting too. As will be the other disciplines with fresh and young competitors trying to make their marks and the old guard trying to hold their own against the onslaught of youth.

My time was this (using stopwatch):
Sasha: 13.35
Alina: 14.74 (28.09 total)
Anna: 14.27 (42.36 total)
Aliona: 13.73 (56.09 total)

Doubles:
Sasha: 13.43
Alina: 14.87 (28.30 total)

Anna: 14.54
Aliona: 14.95 (29.49 total) - she was slightly off the shortest way

But it is only rough, depending on my reaction speed :)

Yeees thankfully we're already getting something next week ^^

You are a lot more accurate than I am. Milliseconds? Idk her  I just kept pausing and unpausing on YouTube to get the timestamp lol

I just hate how people are using the fact that Alyona is up against a slower runner to now try to bring Sasha, Anna and Alina down (on skating twitter, instagram etc). People could just as easily say "wow Alyona has great skating skills!" without bashing any of the others, but people just love to use comparisons from a meaningless TV programs to bring more negativity. I wish everyone would realize that you don't need to bring another skater down to praise your favorite. But it is interesting that they're all the same (ish) speed.

I don't think anyone took it that far, it's all light-hearted.
