She’s pretty tall, she’s the tallest of the girls right now

Frida, the Mexican movie, right?
I thought that Tarakanova's FP music nicely fits together with the SP music, allowing for a contiguous interpretation and is also sort of economical on resources.
Of course, not all of them but that's OK, otherwise we would have a branch of FanFest here. Opponents could sometimes be a source of insights about what could be improved. So far, with Kamila I am not sure that critical remarks can work like this. They are predominantly about "frantic movements", "busy program", etc. Nothing new - it has started with Yulia. Yes, Eteri's students do many more various leg movements during the program than "traditional skaters" who can set a jump for several seconds, who have a lot of two foot skating. Some people see good choreo and artistry in that - I don't.
My theory is that it would be a piece of cake for Eteri's skaters to produce this sort of skating. Alina showed recently that she can hold Ina Bauer for not just a fraction of second. They don't do it on purpose - because they think it is yesterday's figure skating. On the other hand, many others who don't have a multitude of fast-pace transitions do not do it not because of artistic reasons - they simply cannot. It's like they did not backload not because of not willing spectators' "having bathroom breaks" but because it was too difficult and risky for them. It is important that figure skating is a sport and judges seem to highly appreciate what Eteri's skater can offer.
Life is changing, generations are changing, figure skating is changing. I personally like these changes. Those who prefer to stay with the past - it's their choice.

To me she looks similar to Bradie Tennell (tall, slim, arms), body type, even in their faces there are some similarities.

To answer your Liu question Elana, yes.Is it assumed that because there were 9 girls at test skates (including Tarusina) that the Fed will most likely give them each a spot? Then the 6 that can likely make it to the final will get a second? This is what they did last season, correct?
Tbh, with the talent I watched today, I could see an all Russian Final. I am a fan of Alysa, but can she actually compete with these girls, I mean each of them has the potential to be the total package?

To answer your Liu question Elana, yes.
Did you watch US Nationals in January? If you did you know the answer to your question. 13 year old Alysa smoked 20 year old Bradie and 23 year old Mariah and blew them off the ice with her multiple triple axels and dynamic performances. I would say Bradie and Mariah are on the level of the Russians 6 through 8 and they could not compete with Alysa. So why wouldn't Alysa be able to compete with promising 13 year old Russian juniors? I guarantee you Alysa and her camp are wondering if these Russian Juniors can compete with her.
No question there are a few impressive Russian junior girls who could become brilliant someday. But have any of them ever landed something like a triple axel or a quad in a major competition the way Alysa has?
One thing is for sure even with 3A moving up to seniors it will be another sensational season for the junior girls. Get your popcorn ready.![]()
Why... This is just testing skating only.

ahahahTV crew was not allowed to the room where top brass of RusFed and Tchaikovskaya talked to coaches - too bad I would sell tickets to that.
do you think it would be that entertaining?
If ISU and related hosting countries do it right.

I've actually been following Alysa since she won nationals as an intermediate, so I've been a huge fan of hers for awhile, also idk if I would say she smoked the others, but she did deserve the win. The girl has charisma, but she doesn't have power or the best technique. Obviously she's working on this, but in the meantime, these Russian girls are all strong and I think they're PCS for the most part should be higher the Alysa's. I'd like to see her go for 2 3As and 2 4lz, but that's gutsy, if she falls, URs, or +REPs, her score will lower immensly, meanwhile these Russians will be picking up extra GOE on strong triples. Now if Alysa goes clean its a whole different story, but will she for sure? I wish the best for all of them, however, I'm not sure if Alysa will dominate like everyone is expecting, I think there will be some surprises in this junior season that's all.
I do not think we will see a rotated quad from Alysa on the JGP (maybe by Nationals/Junior Worlds). Her 3As seem pretty solid, but all of her triples are at risk of UR calls.
Alysa beat Bradie and Mariah at Nationals only because Bradie and Mariah made big errors. Even with her tech advantage, she would have lost to one or both if they had been clean.
We’ll see. But I think the Russian ladies only need to focus on going clean, and hope that the judges aren’t too generous with Alysa. I think her biggest advantage is that she is the only one the US will be pushing. Whereas the Russian ladies all have to fight it out for top (junior tier) PCS. Judges aren’t going to give all of the Russian ladies top PCS. Kamila for sure, and maybe Kanysheva because she won a JGPF medal last year. But some of the other ladies won’t get the top PCS. It will depend on consistency and politics.
