So I watched Medvedeva's free skate yesterday and I really don't see what everybody's talking about with regards to her Improvement in skating skills ...her skating still looks rather choppy to me...also her spins also looked rather laboured and slow

Exactly, her program is empty. She was better whit Eteri Tutberidze. Nowadays, she is slow and her skating skills are poor.

Yes, Ksenia is something very special. She caught my eye last year and she has improved so much this year. I was mesmerized during her short yesterday and she was fantastic today as well.

But omg let's talk about Vasilieva! She blew my off my chair! Definitely a nice surprise.

We saw 3 girls from 3 different coaching camps today, and it seems like all 3 are on the right track.

She was great and imo it was a mistake to send her here, they should have sent either her or Tarusina at an early event. Davydov skaters are very consistent, she would have got at least a silver in previous events.

But she has still a lot to improve artistically, as Ted mentioned she started to sell her program only when the jumps were done, before she was all business, and i'd argue Kseniia Sinitsyna also needs to improve the facial expression (but at least she has more choreography in between the jumps) and Valieva also.

The audience was amazing, it felt like a big event.

her dress was heavy I agree and the skating skills the same as last season, I didn't see any other improvement other than shes landing the jumps, her lutz look labored and as the others, Hope she improved them she actually she got generous scores there.

yes and it can go higher if she gets her second 4T right next competition. she had a mistake in her first quad

Kamila might have the quads but Trusova reigns for her grit and persistence of making quad records. I hope Kamila dont make the Olympics she might steal someone else more deserving that has experience.

But I think it's a record for JGP. Last year Trusova had 221.44 at JGP Lithuania. Kamila beat that here.

So why ! still got +3 was just puzzling and seems generous.

That looks like an understatement of the year, re the judging. RUS judge doles out a "+1" for a 3lze< for a compatriot, while punishing Rika's 3Lz< with a "-3". That's not "puzzling and generous", that's a joke, a bad one.

I wonder what's going on with Kanysheva :'(. If it stays like this she doesn't have a shot for the final and has only one shot to get on the SB list unless she makes the junior worlds team.

I was wondering same. She had a great season last year, making jgpf and medaling. I didn't understand why she didn't make the junior world team.

Yes it's troubling. And no JGPF means no automatic qualifying for senior RusNats as well.

Kamila was on today. I liked her skate a lot. I think her team is going to use long ina bauers for exhibition purposes only. Well, I'm okay with that.
