Alena Kanysheva

God damn it! :sad4:

Her programs were my favorite at the test skates, and I really hoped to see her tearing the JGPs down. Into pieces.

I hope that she recovers by the start of the Russian Nationals.

No additional news I know of, but Alёna did confirm in a reply on IG that she would take part in Russia Cup Stage 4.

It is sad to see the season passing, after she was so thrilled to have joined TT this season, but all for the best one assumes.

Cross fingers :)

Yuzuru Hanyu mentioned Alёna as one of the Russian ladies with quads that he finds inspiring! :agree:
How cool that the 2-time Oly champ knows her name!

I'm wondering if Alёna will make a cameo appearance in the Channel 1 video on the other Aliona K that should be released this week... Valieva was in Anna's video because I think they were roommates at Novogorsk. My guess is that the two Alёnas roomed together and got up to all kinds of fun mischief and talked/giggled together until late in the night!  :luv17:

Hopefully she'll be back in competition soon!

Sign of life and health from Alyona, she is apparently on her way to Arkhangelsk on 'offical Rostelecom' business, by her latest IG Story: www.instagram.com/alenka.kameshek05

According to this article https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1080604916.html , with some excerpts from Alyona's instagram she is in Arkhanelsk to get healthy. Is she from Arkhangelsk, meaning she is heading home to rest and recuperate? She is a 14 year old child, so when being treated in a foreign city, some relative has to be with her?

What kind of medical specialties can be applied to Alyona in Arkhangelsk that she cannot have in Moscow?

More questions than answers as to her health, readiness and future as a competitive figure skater ...

Alyona thanking her doctors and support: https://www.instagram.com/p/B6JNAD5omGe/

"I want to express my gratitude to all the specialists of the Anesta @anestaclinic clinic!
Thank you for the treatment!
And most importantly, for the correct diagnosis! For the warm welcome and support! Now I feel good, the pain that tormented me has disappeared.

I STARTED TRAINING IN THE HALL! NO PAIN!

Next week I hope to go out on the ice and restore everything! I really miss the competitions!

I also want to thank the coaches for their understanding and the opportunity to recover completely!

To all the fans and everyone who supports me, a separate THANKS! For support in a difficult period for me! In my misfortune I was not alone!

This helped to overcome difficulties! Thanks again to ALL!
I love you all! ♥ ️ ♥ ️ ♥ ️"

Excellent news!
She would be of age to go to seniors next year, but I wonder if she won't remain in juniors, as I suspect Maiia Khromykh may, to be released in seniors for the Olympic year with Kamila Valieva, or if she will go directly to seniors?

Another question : did the Federation pay for her treatment (it doesn't seem to be a free, public hospital) or Khrystalny, or others?

No idea, and it shouldn't concern us. She didn't state her condition either, smart girl, well instructed by parents and trainers no doubt.

Even though we'd like to know, without any bad intentions, this information is private and confidential.

Best is the clinic found the source and proper treatment to whatever was ailing Alyona.

About the rest of her season, no indication. She looks lean and trim still, so probably has worked out over the season and in the clinic sufficiently to stay in shape. Perhaps by Russian Cup in two months time Alyona will put her first tentative strokes on competitive ice again?

She is Khrustalniy's only 2005 born skater, so should anything happen to Anna, Aleksandra or the older Alyona, she is first reserve.

In fact I was asking, only because of the ongoing polemics about the 40% Khrystalny would take of the athletes earnings.
