Alexandra Trusova

Yes, we are all know too well why Sasha cannot fo her FS. Too demanding, too difficult, too risky, too much energy required.

What we don't know how she actually did it.

Still I'd say she looks much better with her sport suit when she demoed her FP during pre-season tests. Barehanded.
Make her dress all-black and game's over...

Agree 100 percent. It's painful to have to always watch these similar little froufrou dresses over women who should be projecting athleticism and strength. I'm not sure it helps the credibility of the sport qua sport either. She looked great in her sport suit at test skates, I'm sure her competitors were suitably cowed by her musculature.

All the same, Sasha is engaged in figure skating, and not athletics or even tennis. And she is a pretty young girl who has a good taste in clothes, as you can easily see in many of her photos from official events. If she and her coaches decided that there should be such dresses with these programs. The design of these dresses is not a coincidence. In Khrustalny they take this very seriously, and if something needs to be changed, it will be fixed, there is no doubt. I remember a lot of not always positive reviews about Sasha’s costume for her last year’s short skate, and now looking back, you can say that this was one of the most creative, most memorable costumes for young girls last year, I think.

Besides, she's skating as Danaerys not Arya (who wore a lot of boys clothes in the show), and Dany was known for wearing beautiful outfits, so it makes sense for the character. Sasha's dress isn't a direct copy of one of Dany's, but you can see the inspiration for the criss-cross shape of the front of the dress in this outfit from season 3. Sasha's is more Targaryan colours, like Danaerys started wearing when she went back to Westeros, instead of the whites and blues she wore in Essos.

I like the dress, and the jumps were amazing. I think like some here have said, she can do more with the FS choreographically, but it doesn't really matter when she skates like that. She's amazing.

These numbers :reye:.... I will be happy when I see these numbers for her.

I would be happy too, and the scary thing is that Sasha can actually score 180 points with her layout. If someone told me two years ago that a girl could score 180 points, I would think that he is crazy.

LUXURY HAIR, LOVE FOR DUMPLINGS AND A DOG IN DRESSES. 7 FACTS ABOUT ALEKSANDRA TRUSOVA

Anastasia Zavyalova Russian figure skater Aleksandra Trusova is a two-time world champion among juniors, the new world record holder, and also the main character of the past week according to the Team Russia portal. We talk about her in a little more detail.

WORLD RECORDS ON THE FIRST START IN THE SENIORS

Having performed for the first time at a new level for herself, Trusova won the Ondrej Nepela Memorial competition with world records. Although the overall level of rivals at the tournament in Bratislava was low, some fear was raised by the fact that for Sasha it was her debut after moving from the junior category. It is always difficult to predict how the judges will accept a young figure skater, and how the athlete herself will approach the first tournament psychologically.

But Trusova wouldn't have been a Russian Rocket if she had saved. In the short program, she overtook her nearest rival by 12 points and almost guaranteed herself a victory. In the free, the Russian girl finally drove the whole world crazy. Sasha performed three quadruple jumps - solo Lutz and Toeloop and a cascade of quadruple and triple Toeloops. Prior to this, no one in history had executed such a program. The result - a world record in the free - 163.78 points and for the total programs - 238.69.

Previous records belonged to the current world and Olympic champion Alina Zagitova - 158.5 and 238.43 points, respectively.

QUEEN OF QUADS

Trusova is a skater who, for the first time in history, performed the quadruple Lutz and Toeloop at official competitions. On March 10, 2018, at the Junior World Championships in Sofia, Aleksandra completely jumped the Toeloop, and on October 12, 2018 at the Grand Prix in Yerevan - the Lutz. For these achievements, Sasha was even included in the Guinness Book of Records.

Jumping is Trusova's special love. According to her trainers, she needs to be stopped sometimes, otherwise Sasha will jump five hours in a row without a break. When asked whether Aleksandra has any fears, or if she is not afraid to perform such complex elements, the skater replies: “I am not fearless. it's not only quadruple jumps I am afraid of, I’m afraid of so many things in life."

FAVORITE PET - DOG

Sasha comes to all competitions with her chihuahua dog named Tina. Her little friend watches the competitions in the hands of mom Trusova, who is present at
all training and performances of her daughter. Tina is a present from Sasha's parents. Of course, for jumping, namely for the first double Axel done by Alexandra.

The athlete loves to dress Tina, and the designer Olga Ryabenko even sewed dresses for the dog that repeat Sasha's competitive costumes.

HAIR LIKE A DISNEY PRINCESS

For the most difficult jumps, the fans dubbed Trusova 'Russian Rocket', but for her memorable appearance, Sasha received a sweet nickname - Rapunzel. And this is not surprising. No other skater has such long hair.

As a child, Trusova saw Princess Rapunzel in the animated film of the same name and wanted to have the same curls as her. Since then, Sasha has never cut her hair, only once a year evens the tips. And her luxurious hair has become another hallmark of this athlete.

READY TO EAT DUMPLINGS ALL LIFE

It is believed that, without exception, all skaters adhere to the strictest diet and live almost on the same water. But, according to Sasha, there are no restrictions in her diet. Unless it is fast food, but that's rather a matter of taste. This young girl’s favourite dish is dumplings.

Trusova herself jokes that if she was told to choose one dish that needs to be eaten all her life, it would definitely be dumplings. Moreover, the skater can wrap them herself. Besides, on the weekend, Aleksandra develops her culinary skills - she bakes waffles and “nuts” cookies, which she treats her friends at training with.

POSSESSING MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES

The coming year will become important not only in the sports life of Aleksandra, but also in the ordinary one - she will have to pass school exams. Sasha's favorite subject is mathematics. Agree, an unusual choice for a skater. Indeed, figure skating, as is commonly believed, is not only a sport, but also an art.

And although Trusova herself assures that this penchant for exact sciences does not help her at the rink, this is not entirely true. Choreographer Daniil Gleikhengauz is confident that mathematics and the ability to think logically helps Sasha count points and not drop levels on non-jumping elements.

DREAMS ABOUT OLYMPIC GOLD

While Aleksandra says she still doesn't think about the Olympic season, this is logical. Until 2022 there is still a lot of time and it is better to live today. However, with this level of complexity in Trusova’s programs and preparations, she is precisely one of the contenders for a trip to Beijing. Sasha does not hide the fact that from childhood to this day she has only one dream - the Olympic gold medal.

“My dream is to become an Olympic Champion,” Sasha said in an interview. - For me it is important to be the first. To win - getting the first place. Everything else - lost. Since childhood, I decided that I would participate in two Olympics. At least I’ll try.

Ambition in sports is always good. And Alexandra Trusova has everything to make her cherished dream come true.

Russian Olympic Committee no less :-)

I have a lot of common with Sasha. In fields of being dog addict and having some mathematics skills. And dumplings, yes...
My head is as bald as of a shaved Disney Princess. By the way do we have one with a shaved head? :)

I don't know if Sasha may participate in 2022 Olympics, least to win the tournament, but she already did quite a lot to be never forgotten.
Hope to see her in 2020 WC, she may be a contender to beat.

If not that dumb Axel...

P.S. There is a possibility ISU will separate SP and Overall medal sets, so a skater of a top team may have three attempts for a medal (SP, Overall and Team).

There weren’t that many spectators with good quality cameras and skills in the audience apparently.

ISU’s Ted Barton is very much looking forward to Aleksandra in Skate Canada senior Grand Prix stage, wanting her to set a new world record ‘bringing all her weapons’ ;-)

We also look very much forward to any special features the LOC will produce with Aleksandra :-)
