Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

OK, we get to see them in the warm up (two groups, yay!)
I am soooooooooo excited, this is just such a lovely moment!

Bramweld, I really hope you could still make it work! So sorry for seeing your message so late. Hope the angel stepped in for you as well or my message could do the trick!

The stream gives an insanely low amount of viewers. I really hope that that number is VERY wrong.

Did anyone else spot that choreo bit at the end of the finnstep pattern? I think this is going to be very campy

No but I think in general Finnstep is very campy.

Who's that handsome coach with Warget/Souquet?

Sound projection is very good in the venue.

Alper Uçar, former ice dancer. He retired last season along with his partner Alisa Afagonova. Looks like he works with Krylova now.

Twizzles were off but this is so much fun. Guillaume looked like he was really into it. What a mood-lifter.

Loved Gabi's hair and the leg-warmers, and loved Guillaume's headband.

Also thought it was quite clever to do the finnstep pattern to the warm-up music and as the first element. The middle section for now looks a little muddled. But again, can't wait to see it in proper costumes and lighting. 5 weeks is too long!

Also, did Guillaume come out too ahead of Gabi when he finished the first twizzle in the pattern? I'm no expert but it looked a bit different from what I've seen other couples do.

I love this! (Yes, I got a VPN sorted in time after all.) It's not fully polished yet and will look different with the costumes, but what a blast!

AAAAAAAH I didn't expect it to be this cute! The most fun finnstep pattern we've seen so far! They clearly need to get more runthroughs under their belts, especially to sort out those twizzles (talk about coming out of nowhere!)

The only thing I didn't really love was the midline step. I think it is a little nondescript right now. It doesn't help that they placed it right when the tempo slows. The lift was also a little laborious still.

89 :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

 It's French Masters. The tech calls are dodgy and the scores are uplifted. I mean uplifting! But man, when they get a bit more finesse onto this it is going to rock so hard..!

ETA: Protocols!

i was afraid I wouldn't love it since so far I am not a big fan of the musical theatre RD. but this is a stunner. love it. it is cool, camp, fun. love the twizzles (yes, off today) and the pattern so much. that is what you call attitude. work to do but way to go.

Were all of these scores announced in the reversed order? It sounded like the speaker always read the artistic score after saying 'le score technique' and then the technical score after 'le score pour les composantes'...?

In what way a bummer? You don't like your pleasant surprise? :scratch2:

Edit: I'm with you in the not such a fan of this year's RD so far. I did like a few of these routines though. Specifically the Corpse Bride one.

How can they be so unprepared?
The Finnstep, the twizzles and the lift were SO messy! When was the last time we've seen them that...cringy? They really need to rework on that choreo, which is a total fail for me. Even the transitions, which are usually their forte, are bad... Yes they have great speed, but that's pretty much it for now. Irrelevant scores, as we could expect.
Hopefully the FD looks more finished, 'cause the Russian are right around the corner. Now I'm scared...

I knowww I didn't want to mention it in this positive thread but I was very scared of this theme and all the "it's fun!" quotes since they said very similar things about the swing SD which I thought was a dud. Here nothing feels faked or forced and I'm especially impressed with Guillaume! He was finally giving it as good as Gabi, so much camp! I can't believe that the only thing I think they have to improve are the usual early season stuff like ice coverage and speed. Happy camper!
