2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

The quads were not all perfect but this is a huge step forward, a step for progress. And in time we will see better quads and better programs in the same time. But if this progress is not rewarded, the skaters would feel to stop to a 3lz 3lo content as they can achieve high scores with that as well, dont they?

3Lz-3Lo is exactly the element Sasha had the most problem with this whole season. Not the quads. And a lot of men who have quads don't jump 3Lz-3Lo. That tells you everything you need to know about how easy is to jump it.

This depends on every skater, but I can tell you that if Sasha would not jump the quads she wouldnt have any problems with 3lz3lo.
Now of course she might have difficulties, cause she is jumping this combo after 3-4 quads.

Sorry, thought you were talking about TES because you were talking about how she wasn't rewarded for jump difficulty.

I was talking overall that the total score doesnt reflect the risks and efforts the skaters that jump ultra c elements take.
I hope ISU will reconsider the value of the Ultra c elements and reward them accordingly.
Till then, the judges should have a gentlemen agreement and score the skaters taken into the consideration the risks and the efforts they put in ultra c elements.

Well, she didn't have a problem to jump 3Lz-eu-3S combo after it ;)

I dont know, maybe it is smth mental for her cause i remember she didnt have problems with 3lz3lo in her first junior year, or in the first half of the last season ... until she fell on this combo in the Russian junior championship. Plus adding the fatigue after the quads.

Alina is what 17 now? Is she still growing much or is she mostly out of the woods now? I'm absolutely thrilled she seems to have made it past the toughest part of it.

Ksenia was amazing! And huge score totally deserved today. She has a chance for a silver at the final with that score, and a gold if others make mistakes.

So glad she has been able to be more consistent this season, even though she fell at JGP Russia, she didn’t let it affect the rest of the program.

Congratulations to Sinitsyna and Frolova for gold and silver today:luv17: Another fantastic skate by Ksenia, she will be a force at JGPF, and she now is actually 7 points ahead of Alysa in the SB list!!

I am also sooo glad that Vasilieva got the last spot for JGPF. It seemed unfair if she didn't...

Kseniia had a great skate!! She is getting senior scores. 140 and 215 total. So glad she changed lutz loop in second half to lutz toe! Also she skates very maturely. Definitely a medal contender at JGPF.

Edit: sorry, it was lutz euler combo, not lutz toe. But good they got rid of loop combo.

And she won by almost 40 points!

I’m also very happy for Vika. She is one of my new faves too. She skates so sharp and fast and consistent. I felt bad for her because she was the sacrificed underdog at Chelyabinsk and she still made the final! I was hoping for this.

Four girls in the final after all! Congratulations to Ksenia and Viktoria! I can't help but feel sad for Tarakanova, who would've been in had she just been second in Poland. But I am so happy for the girls who made it! Anyways, four girls in the final is really good.

Also, a 215 for Ksenia!!!!! If she wasn't solidified with a GP spot for next year with her 204, this definitely did it. So with this performance she qualified herself to JGPF, Senior RusNats, and most likely 2 GPs next year (or at least one - I can't imagine a 215 being below the top 24 or even below the top 8 senior Russians)! We will be seeing a lot more of Ksenia! We will also be seing Vasilieva at Senior RusNats again! What a great couple of days for Russian ladies :)

Well, Vika's raising a glass right about now!

Congrats to her and Kseniia (and Anna for making first sub)!

I think she started celebrating the moment Alessia of Italy took the lead :laugh2: she then poured another glass when Isabelle made it onto the 2nd place
Anna didn’t do too well, but she did enough to take her well deserved silver :)

Congrats to Ksenia on breaking 140!

I just realised that Kseniia just beat Kamila in SP PB, and Alysa Liu in SP PB, FS PB and combined total PB here, so she could definitely contend for JGPF gold/silver along with Kamila and Alysa.

Oh my... don’t get me started on Tarakanova... :( her scores were a complete joke, 56 in components in both events :(

Also to add, I am super happy for Kseniia because she didn’t even get a second assignment last year. Fantastic skate and I’m glad to see she isn’t underrated anymore.

Superrr happy for Vika. She deserves her place in the final. She did her best despite that she was the sacrificed one at Chelyabinsk. Honestly her assignments were very hard because she had to go up against Alysa. And be the #3 Russian at Chelyabinsk.
