Sinitsyna climbs up the list and is now ahead of Tukt and Liu

Top 24 in the SB list, except juniors (J), are guaranteed at least one spot at the senior GP next year
Last year, to be in the Top 24 in the Seasons Best List you had to score 196.34

Still to skate: Kanysheva, Sakhanovich, Kostornaia (next week), Zagitova
And those without GPs aka 'Gubanova's gang': Gubanova, Gulyakova, Nugumanova, Talalaykina and others...

Ksenia is great! Definitely a strong contender this year!

Finally getting around to watching Japan open...

Sasha may not be the easiest on the eyes to watch, but she is a true queen. I really believe we will talk about skating one day as before and after her. If she can stay clean, she is in competition with herself, but she is 100% beatable because of her PCS. Alina was over 11 points ahead of her in that category and only ended 6 points overall behind her with no quads...if she misses, others can catch her. If she really wants to stay in the top spot she HAS to work on the 2nd mark.

Alinas packaging is wonderful, even down to her makeup. Her dress is beautiful and she looks great this early in the season, which I think she knows she has to be 100% all the time to stay close to sasha if she falters. I do hope her team moves either the 3lz+3lo or 2a+3t to the 2nd half to help close the gap between her and sasha.

And looking at the other ladies who competed...what an exciting year this is going to be in ladies skating

I just realised that Kseniia just beat Kamila in SP PB, and Alysa Liu in SP PB, FS PB and combined total PB here, so she could definitely contend for JGPF gold/silver along with Kamila and Alysa.

Her skating is so refined, she looks like a senior lady already. I would put kamila, then Ksenia, then alysa for gold silver bronze in the final

I believe I've never seen as great SS as Sinitsina showed in that competition. Her SS is superb, gliding is godlike and she wasn't rewarded properly for it. She was like quicksilver on the ice - pure joy to watch. In fact I think her SS even better than Kostornaia's  It would be a joke if they push Liu over clean Ksenia in JGPF. Hell, it already was a joke if you remember Liu's PCS score in Lake Placid - almost the same :palmf: Just compare their SS - it's like ground and sky

I can't help but feel sad for Tarakanova, who would've been in had she just been second in Poland.
She would have been if Korean girl wasn't being pushed at any cost to 2nd place in Lake Placid by both judges and tech controllers as well. She isn't even final flight's girl as proper judging in Egna showed. Or was it Japanese girl? It's hard for me to remember them, sorry if I offend someone.

It will be interesting to see what Sinitsyna can do at RusNats. Add a ChSq to her program and she is up at around 220 points. She might even fight for a medal there...

Russian Nationals is a whole cosmos in itself. Tougher than any GP final or even World Championships to medal at home given the level. In Test Skates, #TeamTutberidzeForProgress brought their A game and went out in full force, the 4 Aces from Khrustalniy got a whole FS flight to themselves, and looking at the SB list, at Nationals it's not going to be much different if they all deliver.

But there is Kseniya Sinitsyna to factor in, and Kostornaya is still an unknown entity. I fear for Alyona's chances, she really has to pull out her very best skating to break into top 5. Apart from Medvyedeva and Tuktamysheva I cannot see other skaters in contention. Alyona coming off this nagging injury that prevented her from adding ultra-si to her arsenal must rely on her skating skills and judges' goodwill in rewarding this (first of all in Finlandia to 'break the ice' for her senior entry and to establish herself as a force to be reckoned with). Much depends on the starting order there, if she Alyona skates before or right after Tuktamysheva can make a whole lot of difference in judges' perception. And one never knows how much leverage good old dedushka Mishin has over there ...

Tarakanova and Samodurova are still in contention, but the latter already seems to be lagging behind, so has to really put lots of efforts in.

Kseniia’s skating is absolutely wonderful. The attention to detail is amazing and while I would like more facial expressions, I feel as if her emotions are all being out into her movements, which, is in my opinion a sign of more sophisticated skating. Her jumps today were really nice too, I miss 3Lz-3Lo but obviously skating clean is much more important.

It will definitely be interesting to see how she stacks up against the top seniors. Of course, I think at RusNats they will give senior eligible girls a bump in PCS, but she definitely could be a spoiler for the established top 6 right now if someone messes up. A meddle will be hard considering how consistent certain top girls seem to be right now (I'm not naming names in order not to jinx it ), but as we saw last year, anything can happen. Senior RusNats is once again looking like its going to be the deepest competitive field of the season. Its really too bad Valieva isn't 14 yet, as it would be extremely interesting to see where she falls relative to the seniors. I'm excited to see who else gets added to the field though. So far we have (in no particular order):

Trusova
Zagitova
Kostornaia
Shcherbakova
Tuktamysheva
Medvedeva
Sinitsyna
Samodurova
Sotskova
Sakhanovich
Konstantinova
Vasilieva

Leaving 6 to qualify through the CoR system. I'm hoping for Tarakanova, Gubanova and Nugumanova to join this group at least. Its a real shame that Kanysheva can't though. I'm guessing they'll also send Frolova to CoR stages for a shot to qualify, as she is also old enough (it would be nice if subs to the JGPF also qualified). I'm already getting excited about this ahhh

Good grief, that Korean girl's name is Yeonjeong Park and she won that silver medal deservedly. She wasn't in the final flight today because she bombed the SP. Her FS score, however, still ended up being above Frolova's. So, yes, you do offend someone. It's okay not to like skaters but they deserve respect no matter what. And you're not acting like that.

On another note: Congratulations to Kseniia and Anna today! I have to say, I might be the only one who isn't as mesmerized by Kseniia's skating (idk why, she just doesn't make me feel anything and I'm not a fan of her programs) but I do recognize how outstanding her skating skills are and what a mature performer she is. Her jumps are also all beautiful, she has solid, correct technique and nice spins. And with a score like that she'll be a force to reckon with in the JGPF even without any quads or 3A.

Removed Lo but added Flip. +0.40 BV. http://www.isuresults.com/results/s...OR----FNL-000100--_JudgesDetailsperSkater.pdf
We speak..Hen pecks grain by grain.

My guess is that the 6 spots will go to Gubanova, Tarakanova, Nugumanova, Talalaykina, Gulyakova and new girl Tsibinova, but it's early days yet and a lot can happen at stages 2-5.

Compared to last year that would be:
Tarusina, Tsurskaya, Panenkova and probably Leonova will be out
Tuktamysheva, Sakhanovich, Sinitsyna and Tsibinova are in

.

Or, in true Trusova style, she will change the repeated quad to the lutz instead of the toe, and backload 3 quads to further increase BV gap. ;)

Also, there is pressure on Alina to skate every element superly. Alina skated perfectly, Sasha did not, having a UR and some negative GOE. Alina closed the 24 gap in BV not only with 11 PCS points, but also with an extra 7 GOE points.

I'm totally on the Sinitsyna train now. I liked her last season much more than Kanysheva when they were Panova's top girls, but more as a secondary favourite. But she's done so well this season. I'm usually not a fan of Panova's programs, except when she had Sotskova which you should watch because she certainly wasn't "boring" then, but both Ksenia's programs are beautiful and I especially love the long. She's a contender for gold at JGPF for sure. She'll need some help from Kamila and Alysa but they're first year juniors with many risky elements, it will be interesting.

Also good for Vika that she's in the final. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of her skating. Much prefer Tarakanova but Vika deserves it so much more this time, and she got it.

Gulyakova already skated Stage I and only came 5th though (Tsibinova 1st, Nugumanova 3rd, Talalaykina 4th). So that might make it hard for her.

Yes I know. And it doesn't look good for Talalaykina either. They both need to shape up next time. And I guess Leonova might still have a chance as well, if she skates well.

Sinitsynas skating skills is the best amongst the russian ladies, another Panova skater with skating skills distinction

# Sinitsyna
# Kostornaia
# Valieva
# Zagitova - minus the hunch back

My prediction is that Ksenia will win the final this year. Her power, execution, and attention to detail is really captivating. I am a fan of Kamila's and would be excited for her to win too, of course, but I just have the feeling that it is Ksenia's year, similar to Kostornaya winning last year. I think Kamila will be nervous and feeling the pressure and may not deliver, and considering that her FS SB is only 8 points above Ksenia's with two quads (and mistakes) says something about what Ksenia is capable of. (and her FS score is higher than Alysa's with two quads and 3As) I would be perfectly fine with any of them winning as long as the judging is fair, but I can really see Ksenia bringing home the gold.

Yes, with mistakes. Kamila's SB with mistakes is higher than another skater's SB without mistakes. ;)
