What a great safe on the first 3Lutz! During the competition I had the impression that it was a fall but then when they repeated it, I thought wait..it isn't an actual fall and I was glad that they didn't add any deduction for it. I haven't checked her edges yet but at least a ! could be more reasonable than an (e). Funny, how those edges float from inside-outside overnight! If it was only that easy to change technique, I don't think that so many ladies would suffer from wrong edges.
It was interesting to see how after the messed up jump, her soft and calm radiation disappeared and she turned on the beast mode. It's quite telling that she still has the motivation to skate her best. I was sure that she would add the 3Lo in the second part and although it was obvious that she was a little bit hesitant during the transition, she still didn't give up. I am not sure if I agree with the UR on the 2nd Lutz though, but as I said I haven't watched the landings closely yet.
I was also happy that her StepSq got a level 4 because a lot of people (me inclusively) were worried about the smaller ice coverage.
And did you notice how long she kept her final position? The deduction from yesterday has clearly rattled her a bit and there's no one who could convince me in the opposite.
He was even closer. Crowd was already shocked with her score enough.
