I mean Sasha did a clean run through for her FS, so she probably just got nervous for the real thing. Not only was her practice clean, everything was performed with great quality. I believe that she’ll get the real thing done at Worlds!

She's only human afterall and just 15, the pressure on her skating last was huge. She must have known Anna and Alyona skated pretty much clean and she knew what that meant for her.

I was not disappointed with Evgenia fans as well!
If Eteri breathes, then she’s at fault at something. So no surprise is there

That's how television works, the camera man gets paid to do that and would get scolded if he didn't. People love seeing drama. She'll have to get used to it and tbh she probably already is

So it's clear Sasha is not my favorite in the trio, but my heart was bleeding today especially after she missed the takeoff for the 3rd quad afterthe two falls.
It's strange, because usually when I have one favorite i care little about the others, but with this girls it's different: I feel for each one of them.
I hope Sasha will be back on the ice tomorrow with savage determination and I look forward to Alyona giving it all in the summer to learn a quad.
Each one them would deserve years of dominance, but they have to fight with each other and share, and soon we will have more fierce contenders.
It may be not right to them, but we're entering a golden age for women skating.

I think she was at a JGP with Sasha in Australia (?) but “only“ won silver so didn‘t get a second assignment. Since then, I don‘t know.

Yes, she had only once JGP – she didn't get another one. She then had some senior assignments but I think only one Challenger. Together with other Anastasias & Co., she's not the most loved by RusFed. I hope she's in the national team for the next season.

She was working on the 3A and had some decent attempts. Hopefully she and Mishin can stabilise it.

No its not. Sorry but this is my opinion, and i stated it nicely. So its not an ugly statement. Would you still say the same if any of the 3a had this problrm right now? Probably not. I would say the majority would say soemthing like this then. Yes it is rare that a few week old boots break,1 but in situation like this it should at least be possible to get new skates that are for the level theses skater perform. . I mean you could not even get new boots anywhere else but the cities shop, who did only have boots for novices.

Congrats to Anna for repeating as National Champion. This is one of the hardest competitions in the world, and she has now done it twice. She has yet to miss a 4Lz as a senior, and has now added 4F too.

That's true, but it's missing the basis of the argument. There is literally nothing xenophobic about saying place xxxx is in the middle of nowhere. It's one of the most common phrases used, and xenophobia is prejudice against people of a certain country. People get way too upset over nothing nowadays and scream things like xenophobic.

The very last thing I would blame is the city of Krasnoyarsk, I promise. And Federation. The ugliness here is that you literally called a major historical city as a second class place with all its citizens. More than 1 mln people.

People are ignoring that she did try brand new boots
People are ignoring just how painful that can be to try to skate a competitive program in unfamiliar brand new unbroken in boots.

I mentioned it in another thread but Rika Kihira was skating in broken boots late last season instead of new ones because it really is not that easy to just pop some new ones on and go. It doesn't work like that.
Anyone who has ever figure skated seriously knows that, I know it, I have tried to skate full on in brand new boots and my feet really hated me for that, so did my butt for falling on it so much.

The Power of Youth prevailed again.

Not only Tutberidze's Terrific Trio, but also those great young skaters making their first appearance on the National Championships and the whole world thanks to the live stream.

And the 'old maids' came unraveled, despite trying their hardest.

That was an awesome competition: Anna breaking the century mark, Alyona pouting over a small mistake, Aleksandra in tears for the first time ...

But all will be reasonably content after their evaluation.

Seems that Anna's layout is the smartest after all. Sufficient ultra-si without risking stamina or concentration issues.

Alyona needs a quad, Anna and Aleksandra their triksels and the internal force field in Khrustalniy rink will be level again.

Perhaps already in time for the World Championships, now the staff and skaters know what to do?

Obviously, if Gorhkov stands by his promise. Euros is going to be a walk in the park for Tutberidze's Terrific Trio. And Graz can probably expect a large demand for tickets, for one never knows how long the miracle will hold.

PS on the boots drama, just now rewatching the Russian live stream, where Medvyedeva was interviewed live, she seemed upset, sad and disappointed all at the same time. The boots they managed to buy were the wrong model and size, so unusable. The mended boot held the first competition but came apart and after a long deliberation it was decided that jumping in it would be too dangerous. No words of blame to FFKKR, Edea, the city of Krasnoyarsk or anything. Just plain bad luck. Yevgeniya was really set to compete at her best.

It's very amusing to see people for whom Russia starts and ends with SpB and Moscow

P.S 'middle of nowhere' places such as Khanti and Tyumen have been good enough to host multiple international winter sports events and if I am not mistaken multiple elite chess events,Krasnoyarsk is definitely good enough for Russian national championship )

P.P.S are you sure Medvedeva wanted to skate in new boots and they couldn't find it?

Congratz to Anna, she deserved it, Alena had mistakes today. Im so sad for Sasha, she can skate her program clean and she knows it.

I was confused by the several posts condemning one person smiling at the WD of Med, so they were condemning Eteri? What a nonsense! We are adults, aren't we? Are people filled with hatred? Are you so self centered? Eteri has much more important stuff to take care of.
