You are right. It is something how such a frankly very mediocre skater, for international skating standards that is, gets so much attention from so many of us.Perhaps she has that something special, that none of us see tangibly that is drawing us all into her.
Finishing last at Worlds does not make any skater "mediocre" in my view. In any case, Leung did not technically finish last.![]()
"Doing the triple-triple is the key to breaking into the top group of women skaters," maintains Leung, who finished 12th at the Turin Olympics, then 13th at the worlds in Calgary. "It's exciting because the reward is huge. But it's also a risk."
"I think it will be a surprise to the world where I'll be standing next week. I haven't competed internationally since November and I'm not sure where I'll be ranked but I think I will be coming as a surprise to worlds."
Leung isn't promising anything gaudy from either the jewelery or the results departments in Tokyo. Confident but not brash, she said Wednesday she's hoping for a top eight

This is your indictment? That's it? Triple-triples are exciting? I'm not sure where I'll be ranked, but I'm hoping for a top eight performance?"I think it will be a surprise to the world where I'll be standing next week. She didn't say triple-triples were exciting. She said triple-triples were "the key to breaking into the top group of women skaters".
Last summer, she said things like that over and over again, and boasted that she had mastered two triple-triples. She obviously believed she was on the brink of greatness---that's what she found "exciting". Of course, at that point she was coachless, having been 'fired' by Joanne, and her new coach was discouraged from even speaking to Mira
kypma, you are right.
Joanne McLeod, who has put up with Emanuel Sandhu for all these years, fired Mira for the difference of opinions on training. Later, Mira said in an interview with CBC, she would prefer a coach who will just keep quiet and leave her alone. I think Skate Canada persuaded both Joanne and Mira to get back together, after Mira underperformed in GP events.
The only thing I see is "I think it will be a surprise to the world where I'll be standing next week." Still, last place was quite a surprise anyway![]()
Anyhow, moving on to the future (since you can't change the past)...will a great choreographer make a big difference with Mira? And who might this choreographer be?
Was your last post #78?for me it's still page 4![]()
